Getting OG M2 Track Ready for Season

I'm getting the OG (43k miles) ready for track season (6-12 events), and I wanted to see if there are any other recommended service items.

Here's what I've done, or the shop has done so far over the past few weeks:

Completed:
Ignition Coils and Sparkplugs
Belt, Tensioner, and Idler Pulleys
Engine Oil and Filter
MT Fluid
Differential Fluid
Air Filter
TC Kline Coilovers installed
Corner Balance and Alignment
New Track Pads
Brake Fluid - Motul RBF 600
Michelin PS4S should get me through the season

Any other service items worth doing?

Maintenance list looks thorough assuming rotors are fine. You may want some Schroth quick fit pro harnesses.

I agree; please verify the rotor thickness and give the wheels a good tug to check for wheel bearing play (do this before every event, anyway).

How much camber did you get on the front with the alignment?

I'd also recommend removing the front brake dust shields to help with brake cooling. You could also put on some Camaro brake cooling flaps. You can see my journey here. https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2028155

I think you're a little optimistic with your tire expectations. 6 dry events on PS4S is a stretch, let alone 12.

If your pace is advanced, it's more cost effective to go with track dedicated wheels and a more track specific tire.

I ran PS4S last year as an instructor for 4 events. First year with the car. The wear was exceptional, but I can turn them to greasy mush in 3 laps! The compound definitely cannot keep up with advanced driver pace.

I do have an extra set of 437Ms I could throw on a new dedicated tire set for track purposes. I’ll also be sure to check out removing the dust vents.

Not maintenance but rear toe arms, front thrust arm bushings, and brake coding are all great upgrades to consider down the line as you move up in tire.

Do you know the min thickness for the front and rear rotors? Tech mentioned rotors looked grooved but didn’t indicate how bad. I plan to take a better look when I get the wheels off the car later this week. Looks like I might need to replace them at some point but wondering if it’s something I can defer for a few months.

I asked them to put about -2.25 to -2.5 of negative camber on the front, but they didn’t give me an alignment sheet when I picked up the car. I plan to call on Monday and request an emailed copy to confirm exact alignment info.

Thank you sir! I’m actually wondering if my rotors need to be replaced and how much time I can buy before doing that. Tech indicated they were grooved but didn’t indicated how bad. No cracks in the holes, but I need to check for a lip while I do a more through look with the wheels off the car.

28.4mm is the front, I can't see from photos online what the rears are. The min thickness is written on the rotor hats, you'll find it easily with the wheel off and can probably even read it with the wheels mounted depending on how the car is sitting.

The rears can last a long time, I'm still on originals after 76k KM, compared to my 3rd set of fronts after a lot of track driving (I've replaced the fronts because of heat stress cracking rather than thickness).
