No. They are preset maps (stages). It is not an open system. We would not be able to offer a warranty on an open system.

No discount or special pricing from the factory. I would encourage you to reach out to any number of Dinan dealers that are present on these forums though.

what if i were to bolt on your P1 power package. And then I added a sport cat downpipe from another vendor.

In theory, I would gain your advertised 31 hp PLUS whatever the sport cat downpipe adds in hp?

sorry for the all the questions...

In theory if the CAT was the limitation to the increased power, then yes. Unfortunately I don't think you are going to gain much even with a sport CAT or CATless downpipe as the more limiting factor is the turbo itself at the top end.

I imagine your turbo setup will make more boost on the top end and hold it. While spooling like the factory one at the bottom end. Keep the oem driveability?

That would be the goal.

Short answer is target AFR is controlled directly, timing indirectly.

Long answer taken directly from the product description...

Plug-in tuning devices all have one thing in common, they send a modified signal to the factory ECU, telling it the boost pressure is below target values. This then causes the factory ECU to raise the boost pressure to what it thinks is the correct value. This modified boost pressure signal causes errors in fuel mixture and ignition timing. These errors can cause the on-board diagnostics systems to set faults, but they can also cause exceedingly high catalyst temperatures and a loss of power. In addition, when power is increased, exhaust gas temperature will increase as well and this must be countered with a slightly richer air/fuel mixture. The DINANTRONICS Performance Tuner uniquely has the capability to adjust target Lambda, correct short term trim as well as ignition timing errors induced by raising boost pressure. This enables Dinan calibration engineers to optimize air/fuel mixture and ignition timing at elevated boost pressure throughout the entire gamut of engine RPM and engine load. Additionally, the ability to correct short term trim corrections (the difference between target and scheduled fuel mixture) remain within OEM specifications. This minimizes knock sensor activity, which in turn means smooth engine performance, catalyst protection and power increase, while this is also required to make the car emissions legal.

I just bought one. And that is all I really wanted a little louder and then maybe in the future I will get the exhaust.

Don't see why it wouldn't.

What are you thoughts on the resonator delete? Seems like a cost effective way to get more volume out of your exhaust, but I'm wondering how big a difference it makes. Is it noticeably louder than stock or just slightly louder? Are you happy with it? How much did the labor run you?

I actually haven't gotten it yet. But those were my feelings exactly. I hope I am right, LOL. I plan on doing the install myself. But a good exhaust shop shouldn't charge more than $75-100.

If I were to install the Dinantronics sport and decided to remove it before a dealer service would they be able to tell that it was ever on the car? Seems like something I would like to try but of course don't want any warranty hassles.

Gotcha. Once you have it installed, let us know your thoughts. Interested to hear how you like it.

At the dealer level it would not be detectable if removed before a visit. That said, if something were to occur (not likely) and a major repair was needed then log data would be sent back to Germany where it could be determined that a tuning device was on the car with enough digging.
