2nd visit to laguna seca in my M2C, 1:48 best recorded, was running 1:44-45 in the first lap until I found out, my rear tires were rubbing on the fender and melted the xpel and paint.

Ouch. And payouts probably destroyed the tire as well. Sounds like you may need more camber. What wheel/tire combo did you run?

2:13.06 at Watkins Glen. M2C - OEM Sized RE71R tires; Ohlins; Vorshlag Camber Plates; and Pagid RSL29. Car easily has another 3-5 seconds left in this setup.

EDIT: yeah Spa is freaking fun, fast, with pretty much every corner having some complexity and plenty of run off to push yourself without fear. I already want to go back! For the OP list Car M2C, mods worn RSL29s all around, RBF 600 brake fluid, worn NS2R fronts (265/35/18), new AR1 Rear (295/30/18).

First session of the day before the track heated up I managed to shave ~2s off my PB from a few month ago at Laguna Seca.
Stock M2c - RB600 fluid: 1:42.2 Ultimate goal is to match/beat Randy Pobst time of 1:40.8...so I'm now 1.4s off and I now also know how much these stock Michelin PSS tires do not like heat...need to make best use of the morning sessions in the summer, looking forward to fall/winter time :P |

I was just at the Glen a week ago with PCA RTR, it was hot but still managed a 2:13.4 in a morning session. Same tires, I am running 255/285 RE71Rs. Was hoping for one more second off that. If it were cooler, I know that is certainly easily possible. If you knock 3 seconds on that time, I'll buy you a beer - for life! Edit: I missed the "C" in your post, would still buy you a beer.

Yeah stock pads.
I've done 3 track days at Laguna on my stock pads thus far. Only issue I had with my brakes this past weekend is that I do need to tap them prior to the braking zone to get a solid feel on them - not sure if this is pad knock back or if I need to bleed the system again. I had the pads overheat once coming into turn 2, hard on the brakes and they just gave up but other than that they've been good to me. I'll be changing the pads before the next track day |
