Oh, sorry, I misread that.

I wonder how much could be shaved off of the 2NH back sides for increased stone clearance.

Here are some pics in post #19

https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1984711

I've got some brackets coming to run the 2NH caliper on the 380mm rotor, but it could have been done with the 274mm. That might have created more clearance. I thought about getting the calipers shaved to run the large CCB rotors, but I needed to spend the money elsewhere at the moment. I may do this if I decide to buy a set of CCB rotors.

Those 18" wheels look badass with that 400mm rotor.

Would the bracket allow oem 380x30mm rotors to work? Would the brake heat shield have to be trimmed for the smaller diameter?

The surface of the 380x30 disc is narrower, the 2nh pad would step off the surface

My quest to fit 18s begins today.

Just received.

Paragon rotors 380X36 should be arriving any day now.

If anyone is interested with my bought brand new 400X36 Giros with one track day ill probably posting in the classified soon.

It's funny. I thought the 380s would look small in the wheel. Can't even tell. I'm ready to get the matching paragons for the rear. It's crazy how heavy rotors are.

Very worthwhile and cost effective upgrade. Yes the rotors are an upfront cost, but they are a consumable that would be purchased at some point anyway. This also got rid of the knockback I was getting on track.

I've been lurking and watching this thread for a while, but I'm loving this adapter setup. One of the biggest pain points as a wheel company that serves BMWs is the 19" wheels that the 2NH brakes typically require.

Track/S I'm not sure if you'd be willing to share a laser scan file of these brakes with your adapters, but we'd love to get a scan of the front brakes post-conversion that I can use to provide customers with feedback about which of our wheels will and won't clear the kit after the calipers have been relocated.

Alternatively, if someone in the Bay Area does this conversion and is willing to stop by our office with it, we could scan the kit locally as well.

I know one of our employees has been wanting a solution like this for his M2 comp for a while. Glad to see it's finally happening.

I can scan them but now I don't have any 380mm brake disc, I can scan the knuckle with bracket and caliper.

You are welcome!

Did you cover this area with some paint or is it like that from factory?

We'll take that scan of just the caliper and knuckle with your adapter if you have it or can get it. I'll DM you with my direct email address shortly.

The other dimension we'll need in addition to the scan of the assembly is the thickness of the rotor hat where the backpad of the wheel sits against it. I'm not sure if you know that dimension offhand.

Would you, look585, or anyone else be able to put me in contact with someone at Paragon who is familiar with this custom kit and might be able to provide that dimension?

Thanks again,

-Tom

That's exactly what I was after! Thanks for the quick feedback. Just to triple-check, that is a paragon rotor hat right?

These hats are ones I make for AP racing rings, I also have ones that Paragon uses, they measure 7.2mm, the difference is negligible

I was on the fence between the 513m and vs5rs in 18''. I ultimately went with the 513m not knowing the vs5rs would clear for sure. Awesome to see Track/S and Expert@ApexWheels working together on this Paragon rotors are here, just waiting on the re71's to arrive to get the car setup for a track day later this month.

Thanks for confirming, We'll use 7.2mm for the checks. I don't think it will make much difference, but .3mm can sometimes be the difference depending on the spokes and fitment.
