So people are actually hoping for a price that won’t be absolutely ridiculous? Do we live on the same planet? Because $98k for the M3 CS was reasonable, right? News flash: this car won’t be priced under $80k. I’d say $85k+ is more likely. |

Even the M Performance Carbon Fiber roof skin available for the M2 is different. It also has roof rails.

Ok so it's going to be $85000 US because he said it's about 33,000 Euros more there. It's not worth it. I can go spend less and go buy a mid engine corvette or the new GT500 both of which will be faster and better and make me feel like I got my money's worth. This car should be no more than $68 to 70k. BMWs greed is going to catch up with them.

There is no MP HAS kit for the M2.

The exhaust sound is definitely an acquired taste but at this juncture, it doesn't make sense to complain. Just accept it for what it is since the new S58 sounds identical, so it's here to stay for the long run.. |

That does make a difference. One of the things that steered many purists (and I emphasize purists) away from the M3 CS was lack of manual. Me, for example. I love the M3 CS, but no manual option was a complete deal breaker. I feel this is one of the big reasons why the demand for the M2 CS will be higher, even if by a small margin. That’s not to say that it won’t be overpriced and eventually discounted. |

Why is it when a forum member post a build bolting on bits and maybe adding a tune adding thousands to the base price or buys a car with all the carbon bits, everyone ooohs and aaahs. Yet when BMW adds the carbon bits, adaptive suspension, ups the HP by 40 HP everyone feels like they are being ripped off?
And what's with the comparisons to corvettes, mustangs, etc. they are completely different cars and do BMW owners really cross shop them? They must not b/c for example the corvette has so many "options" I can see the base price + options easily exceeding $100K. Last edited by omasou; 11-21-2019 at 10:27 AM.. |

As for the exhaust note, it is terrible.
What people are forgetting is that every single non-V8 ///M car ever built had a terrible exhaust note. However, BMW often made up for that with great induction noise. The e46 M3 CSL exhaust sounds raspy and horrible, but the intake noise overshadows that by a long shot. It is arguably the best induction noise I ever heard on a production car. |

The M2 CS would have a lot less hoopla had it been DCT only and the BMW knows this, hence the reason why they keep emphasizing the 6 speed option in all the press releases and interviews. |

E92 is the worst looking M3 made to date. Narrow bodied, flat arsed with a porky curb weight.
