My e92 right now doesn't work right with the current setup still so needs more time/testing to get it right. Maybe I'll run it in STUL or something still this year but Pax is an uphill battle in L3. Plus, it's too under-tired on 265's Yoko's and too costly when they last 43 runs.
So 'Vette right now it is in terms of competitiveness and cost!

If I can put some 295 Yoko's on I'll be a happy camper, the e9x needs it. But with similar tires, lighter weight/size, and more low-end torque though the M2 is easily the better car though in otherwise similar setup.
Whattttt? You're only getting 43 runs out of the yokos when you have a ton of camber?!

I'm pretty sure the E92 and M2 weigh the same (actually just looked, they both weigh ~3400 when weighed by actual owners with 1/4 tank of gas) and similar size....the M2 definitely has more torque down low, but I dont know if its actually useable. It might turn out that the M2 can only put down the same amount of torque as the M3 without blowing the tires off... I'd love to compare data on an STU E92 vs an STU M2 on the same course and see...hopefully we'll have a chance to!

Lol best tires everrr there's some great pics of my beautifully delaminated rears over on the M3 forum.

And I hope so! Data would definitely be interesting.
My car has had St* weight reduction and is finally down to 3450 after weighing last week, but it's not a lightweight spec, so maybe a stripper e9x would be closer to the M2.

I just want to put an asterisk here...

The goodyears in the size we tested is slower compared to the larger sizes. 265+ get a tread design change that puts them on pace with the other 200tw tires, and is the size that I and my co-driver (FS national champion) are running on my car, and they are really....really good.

FYI, someone was able to stuff 295/30R18's on the front of their BS set up M2. So for anyone that WANTS to do it... It's possible. With that being said, I wouldn't recommend it. Unless you get camber and wiser wheels, you're just gonna be setting cash on fire.

But in STU however.... I'm coming for you Kelse92

Was doing my homework on tires today. The 295's have a surprisingly good size diameter for fitment! Meanwhile, I'm still trying to figure out how to cram the 315's on the front of the e92 lol These 265's aren't cutting it!

Man an e92 with 315's would be a force to be reckoned with... I hope you can make it happen! Maybe with a really big spacer? 🤔

You all are nuts. I like it tho!

If someone can make the 295/30/18 on a 10.5” wheel work upfront, and 315/30/18 on a 11” wheel in the back, I’m game.

Should be easy enough to get the rear to work. The front will be the challenge on a lowered car.

Yeah, lowered I'm not sure about. Tyspeed did it with their M2 race car, so it should be possible. But we know 295's fit at stock height with the stock suspension and wheels, so I would guess with camber and the right spacers t should work with a lowered car....gonna find out next year haha

The things you do in Solo 2 to go faster :-) Back in the day around 2003-2004 I had my E36M3 modified in BSP to mount 285/30 Hoosiers. Just a couple years later some of the Nat drivers were fitting 315's!

Sure it can be done, and I've not put the time into what might work under the F87 chassis. On my E36 we used E46 fenders, which were cut and grafted on the body. After the wheel wells were all cut up :-)

I'm not chasing trophies anymore but I certainly understand the bug

My Dinan HAS would cry in pain with 295 fronts and 315 rears.

This sounds like a very expensive experiment!

So your saying that if I run stock tire sizes with the Goodyear's, the fronts won't be as grippy as the rears?

Unfortunately yes...which, if you dont have a bigger front swaybar may not be such a bad thing, but with a front swaybar, it makes and already pushy car even MORE pushy.

Theres a new proposal out that looks like its being accepted to put the M2 (non-comp) into STU next year....so I'll either be doing that, or LPSP ESP

That doesn't do me any good. It's kind of a moot point, though; there's not much competition in STU in our region.

Very true...I'm not really sure where the M2C could reasonably go...with just a tune it makes silly power. I think they should make a higher class ST for cars like the Super, M2C and C5Z. But, there doesnt seem to be much interest in that from the powers that be.

Theres some competition in STU semi-locally in Chicago...I'm in a pretty good spot in BS as I have Mike Leeder (previous DS national champ) in my class locally and Tony Chow (FS national champ) co-driving with me....trying to convince Leeder to take his Camaro to STU with me when I go

Damn very interesting. Not running a bigger front sway bar right now but I'll have to look at running the 265/285-35s then.

Nice meeting you last weekend - I'm the guy who loaned my M2 to Jason Frank while I tortured my ribs in BM. I'll also be joining in STU next year so hopefully the 295's can be shoe-horned in there!

In STU trim the car should be able to develop more power and certainly more torque than the M3, so at the same weight with similar tires it should be a better choice?

Wait - what? How? What wheel spec??

Oh wait - might have misread this. Thought you meant the front

Has anyone ran the 265-35/18 and 295-35/18 setup with the Ohlins R&T?

Any one want to chime in on the offsets they are running?

Also surprised to see no one running the Brembo GTS brake setup, most discussions have always been about the Essex/AP brakes.

No but

265/30-19 and 295/30-19

and

265/35-18 square

Always 10" ET40 at the rear and identical rims with 20mm spacer in front. Both 18" and 19".

With 20mm spacer it is VERY close to the height adjustable parts on the R&T front strut.

Yeah I know, I really need wider rims for 295 rears but it works.
