How in god's name is there no "Elections Canada" or "Australian Electoral Commission" to oversee the entire process, handle the logistics and operations. You leave it all to the states, that is just utter madness.

I still haven't cheated, for the record, and nor do I intend to. But times are hard...it really is totally lame having a partner who is just totally uninterested in it. It's weird, because she was at the start, and I've got here just clinging onto hope that things go back to how they were, but I've recently found out that it's not happening. Coming up to the crossroads pretty fast! I also have a good friend who is in a nearly identical position...he finds it tough too, and it may eventually be the end of his marriage too.

Anyhow. Sob story over!

That's a bummer, man. It's supposed to be a romantic relationship and the hot-and-heavy stuff doesn't last forever but still, you're not supposed to end up as roommates.

I forget where the UK is at with that stuff. Civil partnerships are legally recognised for same-sex couples, but last I can remember they were still a work in progress for hetero couples. I'm really not sure on the details of other things.
