I'm looking for good sound ultimately. The quality looks good. I'm trying to decide on a setup for my M2 CS. I will most likely start here

As long as you get a reputable brand that fits without any leaks, all catless will sound the same.

This is the first I've seen resonated and catless. How is there figment?

I think he's asking specifically if the resonator in the downpipe makes a difference... asking for opinions from others on that.

Personally, I have no idea. I never heard of a resonated downpipe before. From my past knowledge researching resonators, the location of it in the exhaust matters. Because it is cancelling a specific frequency in the exhaust. So I would think the stock resonator location is the only place it's be affected. But I dunno, maybe a differently designed resonator will work in a different location.

Since this is new for the M2C, I suggest the OP look at other model comparison video of this dp on youtube to get a sense of the difference between their straight downpipe and a resonated downpipe.

Fitment is good with ARM, lots of reviews on the M3/M4 section.

AR Design is the only other company i know of that offers catless with resonators. In my opinion catless with res sounds better than catless (less raspiness)

AR Design is hand-built in the US, its quality is second to none. Its also 3 times the price.

Seems like luck of the draw with fitment. And the knocking on belly pan kinda turns me off, along with made in Asia. Fortunately money is not so tight I can splurge on some goodies

I installed the ARM downpipes on my mates 2015 M4. We ended up having to hammer the belly pan to clear the resonators. Not much just a little dimple to ensure there would be no clanging.

My other mate has a 2016 M3 with VRSF non-res downpipes. Both have the stock non-comp exhaust and the M4 with the resonated cats is a little quieter and a lot less raspy. Of the S55 cars I have heard it is my favorite.

Personally I would always look at resonated downpipes. Manufacturer shouldn't matter so long as it all fits.
