Hahahaha - I know exactly how you feel! With my last car, my wife and I were in Cancun, when I found out the transporter was arriving two day BEFORE we got home!

I was going crazy those last two days! Thankfully, a couple good friends were there to meet my car, and store it in our garage:

We are going back to Mexico in the last two weeks of January - I am really hoping that M2 pricing arrives before then!!!

Had a dream last night that prices were released. Looks like it was just a dream and prices won't get released until the new year.

Thanks for ruining Christmas BMW. Thanks.

look on the bright side, Christmas could be ruined even more if they released an absolutely super inflated price before christmas..maybe BMW saved Christmas

Exactly my thought too !

Yesterday a sale rep at Sherbrooke BMW (in Québec, Canada) told me that he expect the M2 to start at $65,000. I told him that would be insane because if they really expect to sell it then the base price should be around $54,000 (a plus 9K over the base M235i). That would be a fair price. Otherwise I'll get a M235i (RWD or xDrive, not yet decided and I will be very happy to accept any advise owners can give me. Note that I will NOT drive the car during winter) and add an Enzo ECU tuning on it and it will smoke any stock M2... But it will never look as good as a M2...

My SA in Vancouver is guesstimating $64,900 plus the option of two packages (Executive & DCT). I feel that is way too high. $54K might be a stretch but fingers are crossed

Car should be available at the Montreal Auto Show from January 15 to 24.

I will most likely get free tickets to go see and sit in the car.

Considering the Canadian dollar is now toilet paper value 65k might be a bargain! Australia has to pay 90k and our currencies are now equal in value just saying!

The Australian market has nothing to do with ours. 65k isn't a bargain here, it will probably be in the high 50's base. BMW Canada has to price the M2 competitively based on other car prices.

This is true. A good example is the M4, which costs AUS$167K compared to CAD$75K. Using the multiple of 2.2, we should expect the M2 to start at CAD$41K. Won't obviously happen, but just proves you can't compare both markets to each other.

My dealer too in Sherbrooke (QC) estimate a 65K base price.

I guess he's wrong as it should logically be around 54 to 55k plus $2,095 for "Desination and handling" (they pay only $995 in USA) plus $595 for "dealers fees" plus $100 for air condition special tax and $12 for tire reclycling tax plus 15% sale taxes and hopefully a great smile from the sale rep...

The sales rep is supposed to have a quote for me for a M2 in January so I'll know then.

This car wouldn't make sense to start at a base of 65k, not since the CLA45 starts at 51.8k and you can buy a slightly used M3/M4 for 72-75k.

Totally right ! But IMO the CLA45 is more a M235i opponent rather than a M2 one.

Yeah, that would have been the case for the 2014-2015 CLA45's but the new 2016 gets more power, LSD, and transmisison changes. So it should be a much better comparison to the M2 and RS3 now.

Nice info, thanks !

But, is the 2016 CLA45 keeps its small overboost 2L 4 cyl. engine or a brand new one ?

I meant as joke obvious two markets not same....just if our dollar keeps tanking soon all cars will start going up in price like back in the 90s . It took until the late 2000s for car prices to drop here vs usa.

I think we will see $0.70 before any sort of recovery happens. Everything is working against the cad these days...

Yes focus RS is interesting. while it's not on my list of candidate cars it does checkmark alot of the right boxes.
