There will be one next year for sure! Possibly 2 tours again. I bet the car will be limited to the F90 M5 though

So I saw my first M2 in person today. It was a MG promo car that is going around the country. As I walked up to it, the GM passed me the keys to get in and start it up and it sounds fantastic... way better sound than my M4

It's a beautiful car. I loved the MG but am very happy my LBB is on route as the MG was very subtle and subdued and hid the lines a bit. When I arrived, I pulled over in the M4 and asked the sales manager where the M2 was... he pointed to the car on his left

It was right there but blended in. Having said that, I was so excited to see one that I was a bit distracted too. The subtleness is not a bad thing if that's what you are after but it is a very subdued colour. Having said that, it didn't take anything away from the awesome look.

Some of my observations compared to my M4...

WAY smaller in appearance. WAY shorter but it looked as wide. The first thing my wife said was that we won't all fit in it. We will or they just won't drive with me any longer
Aggressive bull dog stance from the front.
Much less wheel gap compared to the M4. The M2 makes my M4 look like it's still on shipping blocks.
The car is really meaty looking with great curves... very impressive. I think LBB will pull this out even more than the MG.
The interior looked very nice but very similar to the M235i that I had as a loaner a couple of months back.
The sound of the car was awesome... I'm really excited for that aspect and it is a definite improvement over the M4 from a tone and loudness perspective. The M4 either is quiet or boomy. The M2 sounds better overall.

I'm super excited for my car. It arrived arrived at the port today and the GM of my dealer contacted BMW Logistics and had them send the port a "dealer pickup" request this afternoon. That allows the port to bypass shipping via the truck and we can just go there and drive it home (which is what we did with my M4). Depending on where the car was unloaded (i.e. can they get to it easily), it's conceivable (although I'm being optimistic) that we could get it at the dealer by Wednesday. That would mean I'd take delivery on either Thursday or Saturday. Again, I'm probably just being super hopeful

Nice! I started that same promo M2 a month ago at my dealership. I agree it does sound nice, but since I heard a local M2 with the MPE, I can't think of going to stock only!

Sorry I missed the MG M2, but looking forward to seeing yours (especially since it is a clone of mine... or mine is a clone of yours) as at this rate it will be my first glimpse of an M2 IRL. Hope it all comes through smoothly for you and you get it without delay. Time must really be slowing down for you at this point, but Christmas is coming early this year!!

Just an update to this whole Apple car play mystery....i was informed late last week that according to an internal bulletin, Apple car play will be retrofitted free of charge some time in september.
So even though 6CP does not show up in my build sheet, i should still be okay...of course, i still had to option the ZTV package in order to be eligible...

Edit...for those who dont know, my car is being built end of july (MY17)

he never commented on when it will be configured during production...probably for august or september builds..

now lets hope that this bulletin does not get scrapped like the original one did about the idrive 5.0 being in ALL 2017's..

The original bulletin always stated the iDrive 5.0 will be launched in August and all cars would be retrofitted free of charge.
