So frustrating.
Sorry to hear it, that is super frustrating. What was your build week? Maybe we can narrow it down to build week(s)? Looks like OP was week 9.

I hear you! I'm in a situation where it doesn't really affect me, unlike OP's situation.

Same here. I might ask for all season floor mats and the trunk liner for the trouble when this all get sorted out. I am just putting more mileage on my trade in until the recall repair is done.

I'm coming from a lease and have time/miles to spare, so it has no impact on me whatsoever. I'm just curious if I'm affected by it but I don't want to bother my guy with questions that don't really matter. I didn't place my order the conventional way, and I think it's best when someone does you a favor to just shut up and not bother them.

I plan on owning this thing for a very long time, a delay of a couple of weeks isn't going to damage that experience for me and certainly isn't going to make me go buy something else when i went through the decision process on what is the right car for me and the M2 was the winner.
The initial delays are water under the bridge, this specific delay make me not able to attend the performance center - a primary reason for buying a new car - and also breaks a contract they signed saying my car would be ready on this day. It doesn't help that this all came out the day after I signed on my car as they pushed me to do that 3 weeks in advance of picking it up.

First time buying a new car, yes.

My car was produced the last week of February and I took EU delivery on April 1. The ship is scheduled to reach port this week and I'm really hoping I'm not in the recall group. In addition to checking the BMW site, I also checked the NHTSA (USA) site and I am wondering if any of the people definitely in the recall get a result:

It shows no open recalls for me. Car was in yesterday for 1200 mile and dealer said I had the recall.

Here's what I got from the dealer over the weekend. Seems like there is still a lot of inconsistent information out there.

Based on that flyer, only a super-small number of MY20 2-series based cars are NOT affected.

I confirmed with BMW Customer Relations that in fact my car is not listed in the recall yet my dealership wont release the car to me from the lot from the initial stop sale. Very frustrating and still continuing to resolve this. They tell me they are waiting for parts first. What is there to fix if its not on the recall...

FWIW mine is 18 week '19 build. Assembly Complete on 2 May. Released to Distribution/Transportation on 10 May. Planning to take delivery next week.

Military sales, US Spec, being delivered to a German dealership, and registering in Germany. Not sure if mine is different in any way, but I did notice that I can't add the VIN to MyBMW on bmwusa.com, but could add on bmw.de.

Well just got of the phone with BMW Customer Service and it looks like my car is on the effected list. And looking at the flyer, I can see the odds were certainly not in my favor. My glimmer of optimism is the May 27th date in bold letters - siiiigh!!!

I don't know about Leipzig but the SC factory didn't stop production when the building caught fire and firefighters fought to get it under control. So that's pretty aggressive.

I believe I was a week 10 build, and it finished production at the end of the first week of March, like March 8th or 9th.

I emailed my CA, but have not heard back confirming the stop sale for my car.

I agree - my CA was clearly not up to date with this notice and from his view it was still "TBD" from BMW.

Is there any more information you can share? I really hope the 5/27 date is true and holds up.

Haven't heard anything new since Saturday. There were a couple people commenting earlier in this thread who had received word that parts and a fix would be available this week for "sold" vehicles at the VPC and dealerships. I'd be curious to know if they have any updates yet.

Well it's late in the day and I haven't heard anything from my SA about the car being fixed. I'm thinking I'll just chalk it up as another over commitment on his part. This is the third time that I've been told a firm date about when I will be able to get the car. Not really super frustrated but I wish he'd quit getting me excited over when to expect the car and then not come through...

Don't know if this link was already posted but, this is a way to check on recalls for your car. Just need the VIN
