Agree, looks sweet! Be nice if those seats would fit in the M2 and were affordable.

Went to the sales manager today to confirm l am #1...he thought all cars might come in HS color only, plus 2-3 units per year for a large store.

I really don't understand these seats as an "upgrade"...they will push your helmet forward and not provide a pass through for a harness. At least in my current M2 I can flip the headrest if needed and pass my Schroth belts over the seat back and between the headrest mounts.

Thanks!

Would the CS seats provide additional leg room for the rear passengers, or would they be just as fat as the standard seats?

Not really a surprise to me if they are simply phasing out the N55. I posted the same way back ..

It's not the first time a motor change has occurred mid production in an M car. The E36 for the US did the same.

Except the E36 stayed at 240HP and got 11 more torques which is insignificant. The only real significant change was the Z3M, going to the S54 which was an extra 100HP.

So you think the base M2 also gets the S55?

There are a few on 2ertalk.de saying that both the CS/Competition Package (no one is sure of official designation yet) and the CSL will come out as 2019 models with a S55 engine. The CSL obviously being the more hardcore of the two.

So yes. No more N55.

Rumors of course.

BMW NA just included incentive money for center employees on MY18 M2's. Makes sense that the "CS/Competition" replaces the base. Sounds like BMW is getting ahead of N55 vs S55 demand.

.. you mean the change to OBD2 and a more restrictive manifold? I really wouldn't compare the two. Euro S50 maybe..

Perhaps you are also forgetting that the displacement of the US motor also changed from 3.0 to 3.2L

S50B30 to S52B32

Displacement change from 3.0 to 3.2
(New crankshaft and new pistons)
Obd-1 to OBD 2
New Ecu - to Siemens from Bosch
Intake Manifold changed
Single vanos to Double vanos
Inlet valves changed
New dual mass flywheel

Just a few changes ..
