M2 nom comp carbon fiber front lips

Hi everyone.

I'm running a 2018 M2. I'm looking for some carbon fiber front lip options that are easily available to install and remove. I've seen a bunch of options, brands and pics. Can I hear from some of you with what you have, pics on how it looks, and ease of installation? I'm not super techy on car parts installations.

Thanks
Ryan

Almost everything out there requires some drilling and the addition of self tapping screws. Even if it isn't required it's highly recommended. I wouldn't trust 3M tape and OEM screw locations as being adequate enough to hold a front lip on at highway speeds.

Andrew, drilling into the stock bumper? I wasn't sure if there was bolts on the stock bumper that could be reused, adding the lip on the bumper and reattaching stock bolts. Something in that manner

As far as I'm, aware they don't drill into the bumper, it's actually into the plastic skid plate under the frontend.

Anyone have any recommendations on specific carbon fiber models that aren't an insane amount of costs?

Depends on what you're looking for

How much do you consider "insane"?

If you're having a shop install it, I doubt you'll be able to keep it under $1000. Most shops are likely going to charge ~ 2 hours of labor. Depending on the shop, thats around $200-300.

You're looking for an option under $700. Short of Chinese knockoffs, theres only a couple that fall into that range if you're looking for a full front lip.

I actually just ordered one of these, expect to get it in a few weeks. This is likely the only full front lip available at this price range.

Some lips will reuse stock bolt locations under the car but these are too far back and too sparse to be effective at keeping the front of the lip stable at high speeds. To counteract this they usually include 3M tape for the front of the lip since there are no stock bolt holes to reuse there, but again, that's not what I would call sufficient. You'd have to drill into the underside of the bumper to really get it seated and mounted well enough to not risk it ripping off at speed.

Would like to see what you think of this lip and what all is involved with installing it as I'm considering this one as well.

Yup. Will post up a review when I get it. Also ordered the side skirts.

There's not too many people with this setup in the states, or anywhere for that matter.

Yup, found both of you when I was looking for examples of the lip. Mine is supposed to be here mid next week along with my side skirts. Looking forward to getting them installed.
