Why bother getting an M4 when you can get an M2 that does the same 0-60 time

There have not been any updates or responses to your official Euro delivery thread since the call on Dec 21st??

Because people who buy M3/M4s, don't just buy it for performance. The M3/M4 is a lot more car than the small M2.

BMW has a real ED program with a 5% discount. Porsche has no discount and most dealers take a 20% VAT deposit up front, so you get to give $12k cash to your dealer to hold at 0% for 3-4 weeks.

The M2 is looking amazing.

I am guessing those numbers might change with the new turbo 981.2.

Those numbers are for base Cayman. Current Cayman S appears to be faster around the 'Ring. And replacement 2017 Cayman S with turbos will be even quicker. But there's likely to be about $10k price difference, which means 2017 Cayman S FTMFW 😉

I bet you'r right - the new car will certainly be faster - look at the 991.2.

I doubt it - look for the DCT to cost ~85% of what it costs for the M3/4. 3K-ish is my bet.

Maybe a base Cayman S, but I'm looking at porscheusa.com right now, and the 0-60 is correct for the Cayman S. The lap time may be a 7:55 for the Cayman S though, based on the link provided a few posts back.

0-60 for a BASE Cayman with a manual is 5.4s. That car MSRP is $52,600.

It does not, the 0-60 time * says with the optional 7-speed DTC

Porsche. 50,000 for the car, 10,000 for the name.

Good eyes, Pricing is about as expected then, $60k out the door

Oh and don't forget to factor in $2.5k of maintenance over the first 3 years since brakes aren't covered anymore *sigh*

Because 0-60 is a largely meaningless stat as it is too oriented to traction off the line. The 1/4 is more representative (although not great either) and I bet the M4 is much faster. There is little doubt the M4 will be faster than the M2 in almost every meaningful way. However, the price/performance ratio for the M2 is VERY compelling IMO!!
