Also, if I go through with it (I'm having trouble parting from my Dinan 135), it will become my daily driver.
How would you guys rate its usability as a DD on the local roads?

For reference, I'm coming from a 135 M-Sport, which while surely not as stiff as the M2, can be pretty rough on New England roads, but I've grown used to it.
Hey Cav, good luck with your imminent purchase.

I don't have an aftermarket catback or MPE but I do have a Fabspeed sport cat, which I believe sounds amazing. It has a deeper tone and sounds loud enough from the inside and outside the car. I would recommend to get the car, then get the cat, and then decide then whether to get a catback exhaust.

The M2 is a bit stiff. Definitely less compliant than my previous C7 Corvette and 987 Boxster. I would say it's doable as a daily driver because I am doing it. Then again I don't have a bad hip or any physical hindrance so maybe I am ignorant to certain considerations. Downsizing to 18 inch wheels and getting higher profile tires is always an option if you find the ride to be too rough.

Can't offer advise on exhaust as mine is stock, but living in Marshfield I can say I find it drives well for a DD. Some secondary roads that are in very bad shape, and have not been resurfaced in 50 years,I will avoid if possible.

I have the mpe with the fabspeed catted dp and I think it sounds great the only downside is a bit of drone on the highway but it's all subjective

So I test drove yesterday.
Very impressed with road manners. I expected a jarring ride over local bumps, but in all honesty, I didn't feel that it was noticeably worse than my 135.

Now I have to see if it makes sense to pul the trigger. There is no other car on the market that interests me, so it's either get an M2 or keep my 135 and put some more mods on it to rekindle the love affair (I do love my 135).

I know for a lot of M2 owners, the $$ isn't an issue, but it may be one for me. It's kind of a case where I CAN afford it, but the question is do I WANT to (I might have to make some cutbacks on discretionary fun money spending).

I am a fairly new owner of an M2 I am in The Boston area as well.

Excuse the shameless plug but if anyone is looking for a super sprint race muffler I am selling one In the classified section. Just mentioning it here because I'd prefer a local sale

Hello,

Just came back to the BMW family after 3 years. My 2018 M2 MG 6MT should be delivered Wednesday. Bought a new leftover from a dealer in CA. I live in Boston and hope to see you all on the road and at local events!

Cheers,
Alex

Not sure why the forum doesn't include CT as part of New England, but unless something changes at the last minute, I should be bring a 2018 BSM 6MT back from NJ this weekend.

Did you choose against it purely for color reasons or was there something else?

I still don't know whether I prefer MG or BSM, but I definitely don't dislike either. Didn't have much of a choice either. the only new 18 MG I can find is in CA (and doens't have exec package) and I seem to be buying the only BSM left in the country tomorrow - and there's a certain pride in that

Definitely. I got mine from CA (BMW of Santa Maria). They used to have two of them but the other was AT. There was one other dealer but he didn’t want to deal with the hassle of transporting the car over to East Coast. Pretty stupid reaction for a vehicle that has been sitting on his lot for almost a year...

Don't forget to post some pics when you pick her up. Here is a thread about mine https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=24355670 And have fun on the drive back!

Only got decent ones at the dealer. As expected, after 3 hours on the road, it's already dusty and salty. tried to get a few at home but the yard is too icy to walk on for a good angle. All the pics i took have weird wide angle lens distortion

Can't wait for it to be broken in and the weather to be a little nicer to really appreciate it.

I'm in Weymouth, MA. Had my 2017 AW 6MT since last June and I love it. Currently looking forward to nicer weather.
