Wheel Stud Kit

Looking for a replace my Apex Wheel Studs. Does anyone have any preference with a quality Stud Kit? Anyone have experience with the Titanium Studs?. Mine are looking bad. Would like Brand made in USA.

You may have read this already: https://www.core4motorsports.com/tech

I'll be looking at their press-in studs in a few months.

After reading this article, if I'm not mistaken, it says to use Anti-Seize where the wheel and stud seat. Just ordered some ReisMotorsports studs and nuts made in USA. I will look into pressed in sets for my next replacement.

MSI man. Used in BMW motorsport and NASCAR. Bullet nose and yellow lugs (although other colors are available.) Stronger than titanium variants and tight lug thread tolerances.

I clicked on their BMW tab but they don't have m14 thread pitch studs which is what the F8X cars use.

Yes, they recommend lube to prevent galling between nut and wheel, which they say can lead to incorrect torque application.

Do you mind sharing with us how much it costed and did you have to reach out to them to specifically get the m14 thread pitch?

Just curious what was wrong with your apex race parts wheel studs? I wanted to get it from them since I also wanted to snag their wheels as well.

The threads were deteriorating and metal shavings were coming off when I changed my wheels. I just purchased studs from Keis Motorsports that are made in the USA by a Company that sells steel to Nuclear Power Plants and the Steel is graded at 12.9 vs 10.9 for Apex, which is 120% stronger. I have 3 sets of Apex wheels, which are made in China. Apex site states their Studs are manufactured in Europe. In my opinion I have never seen threads on a bolt or stud wear like these.

Definitely a high quality product. I will keep them in mind for my next set of Studs. Thanks for the info.

These kind of look like they're made by the same company in europe as apex studs.

Can you link me to these studs? I googled it but can't find them.

I'm not very tech savy as far as linking goes, but just Google Reis Motorsport, Studs 14x1.25-14-1.5 78 mm F and G series. This should get you there. BTW the 14x1.25 is the stock thread which is finer than 1.5. This stud converts your 1.25 (Hub) to a much more robust 1.5 thread (the part the nut threads onto.

Nope I didn't get anything except for an insurance company in the UK, could you copy the url of the website and paste it here so I can click on it?

Also even if the thread is converted to 1.5 pitch the weak point is still where it bolts into the hub so imo it doesn't really make a huge difference.

I got this: https://motorsporthardware.com/produ...-14x125-14x15/

Which is the same thing as seat time rules posted, but the weird thing is all except one version are 10.9 grade steel (made in europe just like apex).

This is the only version that is 12.9 grade steel: https://motorsporthardware.com/produ...-14x125-14x15/ which is the one you pointed out in terms of switching to a 1.5 thread pitch, so I am assuming this is the kit minus the reis motorspots bit which does not exist from my searches. Overall it seems like a decent kit and I will look into it more, thanks.
