I agree, this thread has been very helpful, and will aid me when I install mine when I receive them.

Who? I read a page back that Andrewc was getting some replacement parts. You may want to contact jack@AutoID directly.

My mirrors came in. It was a tougher job than I thought but not too bad. This thread helped a ton. They look better in person than in pictures IMO. I don't have any irregular wind noise.

@qnet glad to see you got them installed! Let us know if you discover any wind noise over a few more drives. Hopefully not, given that you had the information learned from Andrew and my mistakes it did take me a few drives to hear the whistling wind noise.

If you get a moment, could you snap some up close photos of the fitment of the bezel, housing, and caps?

Here are some more pics. I had to reduce the size so they would fit on the forum, hopefully you can see them well.

Another tip when putting these together. When you're attaching the wing shell after putting on the base, leave all the screws loose, even the one in the front that attaches the base and turn signal. Tighten the screws a little at a time, and in a crisscross pattern, like it recommends in video.

If you tighten on side too much, it can deform the shell and make it harder to line up and put together.

I drove my car more, on regular roads and the highway, and have no irregular wind noise. I initially drove my car with the stock mirror shells with the windows down, and playing no music, so I could get an idea of how it should sound.

Yes this further confirms my suspicion that I have a defective unit. Yours all lines up perfectly. Mine is all over the place.

I think it's a full replacement, but could be wrong.
Pulled this from the other mirror thread:

Edit: looks like the auction ended on the original turn signal strip.
Here's another link for the strip:

Yeah, I'm happy with it.

They fit well. It was a little frustrating working with them at first until I figured it out. They pretty much go on just like the OEM ones, but since they plug into the OEM socket vs. the OEM cord plugging into them, I had some extra wire to tuck away. They're the same ones Altra has posted the link about. They look bright enough but, it's cloudy today so that helps. The light doesn't extend all the way to the tip like the OEM signals, so you can't see them blinking on the end, from inside the car while driving.

Sounds like they're alright. Let us know if the brightness becomes an issue on sunny days.

lol, If anyone has these in Los Angeles, I'd like to see them in person...

That's right! That tap is key to having the perfect fitment of the cap. This was taken over from the genuine M mirror caps, they have tabs in the same place.

If this clip is broken durning installation, the fitment will be effected. Unfortunately, we're not able to replace for free of charge if the tabs are broken (as spraying the caps are costly and are margins aren't huge), but I am happy to help out and replacement the mirror cap for the fee it costs us to spray each mirror cap.

These caps by far look like the best to date. Will there be a carbon fiber option?
