Maybe not completely applicable but I had 255/19's on stock 437s all around on my F80 M3. Nokian R2. Obviously you lose dry traction but never had a problem in snow. I'm not driving through unplowed roads very often but even when I've had to go through hilly areas with snow on the ground, the car feels great. Helped braking and cornering too versus my AWD car with all seasons. Driving about 5,000 miles each winter.

As long as you aren't driving through deep snow, an aggressive winter tire like the Nokians will get you through.

Thanks guys. I have gone with the OEM 473's with Michelin PA's 245 in the front and 255 in the rear. The first M car in the family.

Definitely a big difference from the M235 in responsiveness and how tight it is. Whoever said, it's got character is a great way to describe it.

I noticed as well they have Continentals on versus the Michelin. Not sure if I should be concerned about that or not.

Anyway, here is the beast.

For the OG M2, 18" is the recommended size. I had the OEM BMW 640 set and it was awesome.

Only certain 18" rims work on the M2. Most dont, I learned the hard way.

[QUOTE=S2kM2dan;24119621]Congrats on the purchase! This is my first M car too and first new car, pretty exciting.

This thing is a beast. the DCT is so smooth. The car is tight. The instrument gauges are so crisp. the M2 feels very different from the M235 that had the MPE.

We were talking this evening about the possibility of the MPE upgrade.

I also need to get someone to code the car. I need the disclaimer pop-up gone, mirrors to fold in, VLD, etc

Don't hesitate: get it. MPE = grin generator.

So proper offset and they don’t fit? That seems strange.

a couple of questions:

1) I have removed the Dinan CAI from the M235. I trust I can pop that in the new M2?

2) I have his 710 VMR's 18" that I convert into his winter setup with his Nokian snows. Will the staggered 710's work with his M2?

Have to figure out how to upload some pics. It's the first M car in the family. Exciting.

Big brakes. They won't clear the calipers on a lot of 18" wheels.

Well they certainly clear the BMW 640s. I am surprised about other wheels if the offset it correct - alas, if someone does get them, they are of course the better choice for the OG M2 for the winter - as long as they are sure they fit.

Vastly different car.

There's a handful of 18" wheels that are known to fit. Apex had a few options that are relatively affordable. Many of the higher end brands as well.

What’s vastly different??

Edit. You goof. I’m talking the M2. This.

And I still don’t know of any 18s in the correct offset that don’t fit.

Has anyone replaced their tips. I see how to remove them. Looking for black chrome. What did you go with?
