With the risk of looking like an idiot but I don't get it so I need someone to explain it for me
From what I heard they put the s55 engine in the M2C due to emissions regulations. But on the data sheet comparing the N55 M2 with the S55 it says that the N55 has "199grams co2/km" and the S55 has "227-224grams co2/km". So, I interpret it as the M2C has worse/more emissions than the OG M2... Or what is the deal here? Thanks for explaining and not bashing |

It's the OPF filter. BMW didn't want to spend the money to design and test an OPF filter that fits the N55 M2 when they were ALREADY developing an S55 M2CS and obviously doing spending the R&D on the M4 OPF filter.
The M2 was the only car using the OLD OLD OLD N55 so might as well just stop making it rather than spend the money to retrofit a new OPF. The emission standard change was a gift to M2C buyers. They were going to have to pay CS prices for one. |
