M2C with MP Suspension

Had the MP Suspension installed today. Really enjoyed it on my OG M2. Can wait for it to settle in.

That looks just about perfect. The wheels somehow seem to look better too!

Did you drive around on the factory suspension much, in order to compare the two?

I did about 1300 miles on the factory setup. This is much better.

I had the same setup on my OG M2 and when I upgraded to the Comp, the difference was huge; it was almost like I downgraded. My OG had a VF stage 1, MP Suspension, and MP exhaust.

I'm doing the BM3 tune this week and the exhaust when it becomes available.

Ok, just checked. It is set to 3 in the front and 4 in the rear. Should be 2 clicks stiffer than stock setting.

Hmm...

Where are you getting your settings from?

Stock - from the BMW installation instructions are:
Front axle
Rebound 9 clicks open
Compression 6 clicks open
Rear axle
Rebound 12 clicks open
Compression 6 clicks open

Track settings from the BMW M Performance Suspension booklet (BA-220|05/2017) are:
Front axle
Rebound 7 clicks open
Compression 4 clicks open
Rear axle
Rebound 10 clicks open
Compression 4 clicks open

I'm going to take a look over the weekend. Not sure wth the tech is talking about. Haven't really had a chance to check out the new setup.

Was wondering about this based on a thread you responded to last week. This is making more sense now.

It's the BMW recommended setting...not sure what it is. The suspension has settled in nicely. A bit lower than in the pic.

Would you be able to take an updated photo of the suspension now it's settled?

I'm considering getting the M performance suspension after the run in service.

Did bmw or any other suspension company recalibrate their dampers or spring rates for the additional weight the M2C carries? Or is it minimal that they dont have to?

Hey OP, Thanks for the post. I'm going to have the M perf suspension installed on my 2018 LCI. Did you give the dealer any instructions or just tell them to follow recommended install specs all around? Are you thinking about spacers? Also, how much did the install cost if you don't mind me asking?

Looks sooooo much better. Nice job!

Curious how many hours dealer charged for the installed. My dealer quoted 12.5hrs!!!

I'm not the OP but I had the MPS installed on my 18 LCI at the dealer and paid $1500 with alignment included. Make sure to clarify this and get it in writing. I got 3 quotes: 1 from a race shop-$800, 1 fron the top suspension shop in the area-$1600, and the dealer-$1500. Went with the dealer for warranty reasons even though I served as the guinea pig as I was the first one there to have it installed. I did specifically ask for the M tech to perform the work though. If yiou haven't already purchased the suspension make sure to buy the mounting hardware as it is one time use and is NOT included with the suspension. I didn't specify the settings but I'm pretty sure they will set it to factory recommendation by default. The drop is perfect as far as being able to get around without stressing about scraping.

3 very good bits of advice from OGM2 above

In the UK, oem parts like MPS BMW will only honour warranty if dealer installed and they will set the car up as per BMW instructions. As an aside, my dealer threw the extra mounting hardware FoC as part of the deal for them to do the work.
