There is always a distributor here to ruin it for the retailers. No different than a big box store trying to put mom and pop store out of the business.

I use them for the streets as well, but since they don't come with the shimm on the back, I had to remove the stock ones. How about you guys?

As long as you can get the OEM shims to work on the Pagid by all means use them to reduce pad knock.

Forget the pad knock.....the dump truck squeal is bad after a week of street driving. Since it's not my DD, I live with it - because the pads are top notch for my track use, and I'm too lazy/busy to swap back to OEM.

Can't have best of both worlds.

RS29 vs RSL1

Some of you are wondering how the RSL1 compare to the RS29.

Bite: RSL1 has more bite
Friction Level: RSL1 has a higher friction level
Fade Resistance: RSL1 is more fade resistant
Disc Life: RS29 is more disc friendly
Pad Life: RSL1 has a longer pad life
Modulation: RS29 has better modulation

For those of you interested I fitted some front Pagid RS29s to my M2 just after the RIS and then did 4 Nurburgring trips / Trackdays and a 2000 mile road trip and a Brands Hatch GP circuit trackday along with the mundane stuff in between I managed almost exactly 10000 miles on the set before changing them.

I've been using these pads on my previous 2 cars (e46 M3 and e82 135i - both used for Trackdays) for the last few years and love them.

Point to note though - the are noisy and if you use the rears too.....be prepared to piss a lot of people off, the squeal is unbearable.

The pad life on the RS29 is incredible. I just ordered some RSL1 and can't imagine these having a longer life. If the squeal offends, screw 'em.

Any update on this? Trying to decide between Carbotech and Pagid's.

I’ll throw a little comment in here that I’ve run Pagid & PFC, and enjoy the pedal feel of the PFCs more and they’ve held up better under high temps for me.

A lot of guys run the 08, but the PFC 11 is my favorite race pad out there, vs anything from Pagid or Ferodo. Doesn’t last as long as the 08, but the pedal feel and stopping power is fantastic.

That said, to me Ferodo is 90% as good as the 11, and Pagid is 70% as good. This is pretty subjective, but I’ve been thru a lot of race pads.

RSL1 needs more attention when bedding in then RSL29 (some people have difficulty with them). RSL1 is less good when switching between street and track pads (RSL29 is the better choice in this area)

RS29 remains our most popular pad for the F8X M2 M3 M4.

Agree. I have used lots of RS29 and lots of PFC08, here's my personal take,

- PFC08 bites faster at the very initial part of the braking, doesn't really affect braking as a whole, more of a feeling/taste/pedal pressure issue. I like it :-)

- RS29 will start to go soft earlier than PFC08 at higher temps. PFC08 is amazing to hold up. But will of course wear quickly if you go overboard in temps.
