Still no excuse for the fuel gauge to have the standard needle. That's a real shame.

I think it is a good thing they kept the needle white.imagine topping 300 when you have a full tank of gas. Or like the pic shows. 0 and empty. I think it's to give it contrast . Two needles parallel to each other in the same color would look kinda funky in close proximity.

It killed me every time when I had to enter that maintenance menu over VIN number.

Dang all they had at the Welt when I went for ED in Oct was a ugly LBB X6M. I did get to see what I assume was a pre-prod M2 on the autobahn though. The guy wouldn't look at me in my F80, guess he was a BMW employee.

Because that would screw up the symmetry of the dash. As long as the display under the tach is white, then it makes complete sense.

Needle becomes red once the colors of the dash also turn red which is usually when it gets dark.

Holy Hanna, can we think of anything more picayune to carp about?

Tell you what, if you can deliver that very car to me by April 1, I will take it off your hands, white fuel gauge needle and all. Somehow, I think I can learn to live with it.

This pic looks fairly representative to me. It has a lot of green in it. In reality it looks nothing like most of the indoor pictures floating around where it ends up looking like Estoril.

I current drive an M5. I'm starting to think about adding an M2 as a fun car. The only issue I have is the dash colors. I'm not a fan of that red/orange backlighting BMW uses in most, if not all their non-M cars. The M5 has white gauges and they are lit white a night. I understand BMW believes that the red/orange is a "safer" color for night driving but it's 2016; why not give the consumer the choice of colors like several other less expensive manufactures?

If you are having second thoughts about buying this car because of the dash colors, please move on and let someone else get an allocation.
