Just got a foam cannon: what soap to use?
I just got a foam cannon and haven't ever used one before.
Looking for suggestions for soap that can be used for both ceramic coated and traditionally waxed vehicles? And if I can get it on Amazon, so much the better. TIA. R. |

For the foam gun I use Adams shampoo.
Then with Ethos Ceramic Shampoo in two bucket method. Every few weeks I mix it up and use the Ethos in the foam gun instead. I find this maintains my ceramic coating very well. Both available on amazon but I personally stock up when they do their individual sales |

I'm a fan of the griots system myself. They have three types of foam soaps.

My go to is Meguiar's Gold Class. Not super expensive and can be had on Amazon (LINK HERE). Fill the spray bottle about 1/8-1/4 full with the soap and fill the rest with water and then give her a good shake. Depending on which canon you bought, turn the water all the way down OR turn the soap all the way up. Should come out THICK!
My old car for reference. It's purple and orange with polished wheels. Can't see any color. |

Any good quality pH neutral shampoo will work fine. As a couple others have mentioned, I use meguiers gold class.

Thanks for the replies, guys.
After talking to the guys who did the paint correction, PPF and ceramic coating on my M2C, I went with what they recommended: Gyeon Q2M Pre-Wash, followed by Gyeon Quartz Bathe Plus and finished with Gyeon Wet Coat. For my wife's Miata RF, I went with Griot's Foaming Surface Wash and Foaming Poly Gloss since it was a package deal on sale on Amazon. We'll see how things work out-- I'm probably overthinking soap, but I've never had a good power washer or foam cannon to play with. Thanks again to all for the suggestions. R. One thing to be mindful of is the cost. I was using 4oz of Meguiars Hyper Wash ($28 a gallon) in my foam cannon, that was like $.81 per foam cannon full. I've since switched to Adam's Shampoo ($39 a gallon) at 4oz a bottle and now that's $1.20 per. I've decided to try out Adam's Mega Foam ($55 a gallon), they say it foams better so hopefully I can drop to 2oz a bottle even though Mega Foam costs more per oz I'll be using less and can save money. That would end up being $.86 a bottle. Of course you can just not give an F of costs of stuff. Also depending on your pressure washer, look at changing the size of the orifice in your foam cannon. If you have one of the lower end electric machines then check if you have a 1.1mm orifice, if not it'll help with more foam.
