Text Messages to iDrive - Pixel 3a
Digging through the other Android threads I didn't see anything specific to this issue. I also don't have this problem on my F30 - it shows the messages without issue. iDrive is a bit newer in my M2 CS, and for some reason it doesn't even show the access to messages as an option during pairing. Anyone else seeing a similar issue with a pixel phone, or specifically the 3a?

When it paired did it ask for access to messages and contacts? It doesn't have the messages option listed in Bluetooth on my phone like the pairing instance for my other car as well. Rather weird.

In the process of sorting this out still and a possible lead. Dealer is saying that my connected drive is expired/not activated. Weird thing is my account online says it is. First I've heard that connected drive was needed to view text messages, but I'll chase this down with customer service and see what comes of it.

I noticed I only get SMS, and RTS (android version if ichat kinda) messages do not go through iDrive. If you eneabled "advanced messaging" or whatever your phone calls it, and so has the person the message is with, it won't go through the car.
But if you're not getting normal SMS, then it's something else though. BMW sucks when it comes to phone integration IMO. Wish the M2 got android auto. |
