Had a company install it. You have to switch the rear view mirror casing with the one they provide and run a cable past the interior panels to the fuse box located at the passengers feet. I'll post some post-install pics this weekend. |

That looks slick, but it's front-only, right? How is the software / etc? I've heard that the BlackVue cams are really well done, and while they cost more, it seems like ongoing software support / usability are kind of an important thing (especially since you might have the cam in the car 4+ years)

It looks like the new Waylens Secure360 camera will be a contender for $249: https://www.waylens.com/360 or https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...me/description

For me it's more important that the camera is very discreet and that I have the video when I need it. |

I haven't had any issues with it's placement, but I also wouldn't really know what to look for. I'm guessing the camera to see speed limits and or auto dash brightness? If so, then no, no issues at all. |

The dashcam does end up in front of it, and it might be affecting the dimming of the rear view mirror, but only making it dim slightly earlier than it would normally, not the other way around. I've not seen it cause a problem, put it that way.

....I also have 20% rear tint, so that may also be contributing to me not noticing the dimming even more so.... |

The rear tint will affect it a lot more.
The way the dimming works, the lux on the front sensor is compared with the lux on the rear sensor, and if the rear exceeds the front by a certain amount, the mirror dims. Tinting the back of the car cuts down the amount of light going to the rear sensor, so the mirror will dim later.

That's pretty slick, but how the heck do you get it out to check the footage? I assume it has no screen? Is the SD card at least easy to access?
