LBB Touch Up Paint

I just called my local BMW dealership to order touch up paint and was told that BMW does not offer it yet. The parts manager told me it could be up to 6 months before BMW offers it.

What are you guys doing for touch up paint? Is it worth it to go to a local body shop and get some mixed?

Thank you for any insight.

+1 for Dr Colorchip. Best touchup I've used.

If you're in UK/EU then google "Chipex" - I've used it on my LBB car and it's an absolute perfect match - in fact I've always been impressed with their colour matching when I've had mineral grey and BSM too.

I got mine from my BMW dealership so it's definitely available, comes with 1 bottle of LBB paint and 1 bottle clearcoat.

I'd use doctor color chip on the front bumper. It does a surprisingly good job for very little effort. For something in a more important area, I'd use "real" touch up paint. It's a lot more work but you can make it truly invisible.

Hoping LBB touch up paint is available, as that's my color.

Thank you. I've called around to a few dealerships and was told BMW doesn't offer it yet. I guess BMW NA is behind the ball on offering it in the US. I'm just going to use drcolorchip for now.

Because of California environmental standards the US doesn't get some of these products at the same time as the rest of the world. Not sure its the case here but I wouldn't be surprised.

Was kind of laughing last night about this - I mean LBB has been available on the X6 and the X4 for a couple of years I think.

And crap, a quick search this morning tells me it IS hard to find around here!

and double recommendation for Dr. Color Chip - Amazing product.

Scratched the front bumper lip on a bloody bottle shop entrance, 1st day of 2019 -_-z

How much does BMW dealer charge for this? I will consider Dr ColorChip or Color N Drive alternatives if the price is crazy.

I'll write another post in the Australia region sub-forum, not sure if the touch up paint kit is good enough to fix my problem, sigh.

Thanks in Advance.

Highly recommend Dr. Colorchip.

Extremely easy to apply and remove excess...plus its color and clear coat mixed into one!

Same. Used it on a couple chips on my hood. Super easy, and matches LBB perfectly.

I requested the touch up paint when i purchased the car so it was free, not sure what the dealer charges I'm afraid.

I would however recommend Dr Colorchip over the dealer touch up kit anyways, i tried the touch up once but was not happy with the result, Dr Colorchip was 100% better, way easier to apply and the colour match was perfect.

I have used this stuff on a ding from someone slamming their door into my fender. It works pretty well.

I second this. My detailer recommended Dr. Color Chip. BMW didn't offer LBB touch up in the USA anyway (at least last year when I needed it).
