OK, so some are more cavalier about their cars and others more OCD... and everything in between. 'Can't we all just ... get along?!?'

Though I am reminded of a quote from the cheesy romcom movie 'Must Love Dogs' something like... "You can love your pet, but just don't loooove your pet"... or car

I literally wrote the post when I saw it, obviously I was exaggerating. Guess that means it's time for people to be a prick, this is a BMW forum I guess.

I literally cried when my Z4MC had a windshield chip due to a f*cking dump truck cutting me off and making rocks fly.

I could not live with myself if I didn't care about a scrape as bad as that - it's part of being a hardcore car guy.

PS: no need to be a dick to the OP. If you have nothing to add but insults, go join the M4 vs M2 discussion

This is a pretty mild forum compared to others I am on (or have been in the past). Must be the "Do you have any grey poupon?" crowd that drives bimmers.

If that post was just after you saw it, you are definitely not as bad as I am... my post would have a lot more 'motherf$%#g assh*le!!!' when the incident was still fresh.

Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill.
If you finally got the keys of a streetcar named Desire, you care about this kind of minor stuff too, especially if taking delivery happened only a few days ago.

Putting things into perspective. It's like stone chips, rim rash and door dings: sooner or later it happens. You hope that all remains in pristine condition, but it won't, because it's driven. The moment that you notice it, you're supposed to feel frustrated by it. For sure, almost no-one notices it and it's actually rather trivial, but you know it's there and so you notice it and feel bothered by it.

So cut Adem1534 some slack with some comforting words.

I took delivery of mine a week ago and it rained all day. Clocked over 2000 km ever since and it's dirty now. But Mineral Grey hides dirt rather well. And brake dust will give the wheels a more gunmetal look. I'll give it a first wash in a few weeks or so. Let it be.

I think it's more about the length of time in which he waited for the car which has been documented here and the fact that the car is like 1 week old.

It's kinda like (but not really) that one dude who bought the first iphone 6 and then dropped it.....on live TV.....

Leave it and wait until a company starts producing CF splitters. It's a car man, just enjoy it. To me, that's def not bad enough to repaint bumper or anything

My advice would be to just drive it, you forget all about the paint chips and scrapes, my whole front bumper is chewed up from rocks, scratched the bottom of the bumper on both sides, chipped windshield, and it all gets forgot when I drive it.

I reckon your local touch up guy could sort that out for you and when he's finished you'd be none the wiser.
Certainly not worth the cost of bodyshop intervention.

Meh, no big deal. So minor nobody will ever notice and it makes the car unique. I actually like it when cars develop very light patina like that as they age with their owners. Makes it yours.

As an example, I recently saw an old Audi A3 that I purchased new in 2006 from Audi Santa Monica. I traded it in to BMW Seattle about 5 years ago, but I remember the patina on the Audi well, including the very tip of the door's lower corner that broke off when opening it near Zuma Beach, in Malibu. I was, of course, bummed at the time.

Fast forward almost 10 years and I saw the same car in Seattle, with the same missing piece on the door. Was like seeing an old friend, with shared memories.

Well yeah a body shop can certainly fix that no problem, but I know that it sucks. I run a body shop and see that all the time. If you were closer to be I would gladly take care of it for you. But in the mean time you can take a sharp razor blade and trim off the fringes and get some touch up and it will hardly be noticeable.

He asked for opinions. I gave mine. Have you read his post history? 2000 post since 2013, none of them contributing anything of substance. 40 (generally irrelevant) threads made before he even had a damn BMW.

While I love the enthusiasm, he takes it to a level that gets discussed on other boards, across different makes, as being completely irrational. Seriously, I'm on a Subaru forum, and I see a link to his blog/posts, in reference to his cool-aid filled ramblings...

If that tiny scrap on the chin leaves him beside himself, to the extent he needs to ask for advice...he seriously needs to take a breath and get some perspective.

Honestly, if gives the rest of the BMW community a bad reputation...as if we didn't do a good enough job of it as it is.

I'd otherwise agree...but again...this guy makes a new thread with every new thought.

Again, I appreciate the enthusiasm, but he needs to calm down and grow up. It's a $50k 2 series, not a Veyron.

I'm not picking sides here but...

he has 1100 reps on 2000 posts so obviously there seems to be a lot of people that might appreciate his posts. Just saying.
