How long did your rear tires last?
Just took off my summers and was warned that after 2 seasons of summer they are bald past the warning line. Makes sense really. Just curious what your experience has been?

Very interested in results of this thread but I think people should note whether you got the Conti or MPSS lotto because it could make a difference

Yea, I'd also like to know how long you've had the car, the average temperature while driving for each day you drove it, average tire temp for each tires, the average gear and throttle position for each day, your tire pressures each day, the number of right and left hand turns you took each day and at what speed, if you are on OEM or aftermarket suspension, what suspension mods/settings, what days you had things in the trunk and how much did those things weigh, etc....

My OEM Contis only lasted ~7000 miles but I drive aggressively and have been known to do a burnout here and there.
I've always had good experiences with Michelins in the past so I went PS4S once I fried those. Very happy with them thus far. I've only put about 2500 miles on them so I have yet to see what the life span is like. My dd (328) has Michelin AS3+'s on them and I love those as well. Great in rain and snow. Have had them for a year/~12k and there's plenty of tread life left. |

I put four Michelin PS4's on at 6K miles - changed from the Michelin SS's because they sucked in the rain.
Changed the PS4 rears at 33K - still have the fronts on at 51K. Math says re: PS4's: 27K on the rears. 45K on the fronts which are still going strong. Obviously I don't track my car but I also don't drive like a grandma. I *do* keep the pressures up - always at least 36PSI all around. |

But I live in nanny state Australia where they can confiscate your car for doing burnouts. |

MPSS here.
I bought the car with 10k miles on it. I now have 17k (24k kilometers) miles and 3 track days. Many clutch drops but the rears are still fine. The front shoulders are low. I have 3k miles and maybe 2 track days left on them. But the winters are on now, so o big deal. Will be looking for 200 thread wear semi slick mid next year.

I change my tires, obsessively, way before it hits the wear-bars; like around 8,000 miles or so, give or take.
I've spun out in the rain before, so I play it safe, even if my tires still appears to have reasonable amount of meat on them. Tires are the only part of the vehicle that actually touches the road, thus it's intricate to a said vehicle's performance and safety. It's cheaper to replace them prematurely than having my insurance company charging me $1,000 collision deductible and then flooding my car with aftermarket Chinaman replacement parts. I use this tire tread gauge to measure the remaining depth. Last edited by Poochie; 11-03-2019 at 05:21 PM.. |

I'm at 27k on my oem mpss which I got in Dec 2016. I believe i still have a year or so on them especially as it doesn't rain much in so cal and I sit in traffic a lot. I have one track day on them which only affected the fronts.
