They did good tuning on the R35 GT-R platform, don't know much about them in the BMW game. Also a lot of the benefit was from very experienced tuners using the platform, not necessarily the platform itself.

Ecutek was also my tuning platform of choice in the BRZ/Gt86 world. Had no clue they were tuning N55 much less S55. If I did, I might've kept the ECU Connect dongle...
It'll be interesting to see if tuners will prefer Ecutek over BM3.

I flashed my '04 WRX back in the day with Ecutek. Good product.

I inquired earlier and ECUTEK plans to release a Flexfuel package in the future which really peaked my interest in their software.

Told you it would be worth the wait mate.

Clearly bm3 isn't happening anytime soon for the M2C so I'm very stoked to hear a reputable product is out. To e to find a tuner

Same issue with these guys if you have the latest DME version. Sadly.....I’ve emailed back and forth. Seems the M2c isn’t high on their priority list. Maybe, just maybe if enough people email and ask, they’ll have good news for us.

I've been running Ecutek for over a month now and have received many custom calibrations from my tuner based on my driving preferences and logs. New racerom software is soon to be released(a week or two) with steering wheel map switching and true flex fuel calibrations (Ethanol content sensor sends signal to the canbus...no loading a tune for E85 or Pumpgas switching of fuels)

If anyone is interested, contact Bend Calibration. Keep in mind Ecutek is not BM3 and is not a cloud based interface. Also Ecutek must be purchased through an authorized tuner and it's more expensive than BM3.

The tunes that Bend Calibration develops are catered to the driver with a more efficient based tune and more flat torque/road course style power delivery bias fyi which is also how I prefer the powerband. More data and official release of the racerom products will be communicated at a later time and I plan to have dynos when my tuner and I feel the calibration is perfected.

I'm located in the bay area and luckily there's a tuner who handles ecutek but mainly for Subaru's so we'll see how it goes when they respond to my email. What kind of tune did you do/have? World of difference to stock? Did you have a custom tune done?

For what it's worth, Litchfield is using ECUTek on the current m2c DME. so apparently there is a work around, at least for ECUTek.

My tune right now is fully custom and honed to my requests. I've had Bend Calibration do the tuning on my 1050rwhp E46 M3 for the past decade and he's been tuning my M2C along with his own F80 M3 on Ecutek with lots of data. He also tuned on BM3 but found it lacking by comparison. For what it's worth all my tuning has been done remotely so you definitely should keep that in mind when choosing a tuner...especially if they haven't had much work on BMW's.

I'm not sure the power my M2C is making but I'm sure I'll get it back on the dyno once the calibration has been dialed exactly. I would guess the power is somewhere around 500whp on my latest calibration with a flat torque curve. All the new racerom features have opened a lot of new configuration options.

I'm also very excited about the true flexfuel calibrations and this was the main reason I chose Ecutek. I have my flex fuel sensor and new fuel lines being installed right now as per my own design. I had previously inquired with Fuel-It on their flex fuel kit however it was way overpriced and I did not require their proprietary bluetooth flex sensor. They were unwilling to sell just the fuel line kit but I'm happy it forced me to design my own as it's far superior imo. I will post pictures in my build thread when it's complete.

I've previously inquired about this and to my understanding they have to unlock the ecu manually still. Ecutek (to my knowledge) alone does not have the ability to unlock the latest ecu's. Just remember it's only been in the past couple years that OBD access was released and previously required removal and opening of the ECU to unlock.

Just like everything, it will need time and effort. I wouldn't expect BM3 to get it first since their focus seems to be on the new 2020 Supra platform.

Which is quite unfortunate. My only hope at this stage is that they get a solid OTS map, then go back to the car that people actually own.

There probably is but why not do it remotely with someone who has more experience?

That is only for the latest istep revision. Prior to 03/2019 builds do not need the ecu removed for the unlock and the current Ecutek software will do it. I did it all myself with my tuner being 850miles away.

My comment however was referring to choosing a tuner for Ecutek...there are lots of people who can unlock the latest istep revision by pulling the ecu...after that then you are free to use whatever tuning software you like.

I ask to get feedback from the tune here locally. Of course I'd have it done by a shop as I'm looking for a custom tune.
