Open Weave Carbon Fiber Interior Trim - What are you using to Protect it?

Finally picked up all of the OEM open weave carbon fiber interior trim pieces (Steering wheel trim, DCT shift knob and surround and the e-brake handle)

I want to protect the surfaces without changing the looks of the open weave carbon fiber.

What product are you using and is it durable?

Going to be hard to protect those areas, because they will be touched all the time. You could possibly wrap them in PPF, but I don't think it is practical.

Keep them clean is my recommendation.

I just use Groit’s interior cleaner on them.

I am sure others have recco's on interior prods, but I also affirm using the Griots Interior Cleaner. Spray the MF rag, then wipe clean. I also then use his Interior Detailer which adds a light luster and repels dust. Also, not direct spray but on the rag, then wipe in even swaths. Do stay away from the "shiny" prods that actually attract dust into the open weave. Hope that helps some...I love the open weave and after two years, it looks like new with above process.

I've got the same setup you have and my carbon looks perfect even after 16 months or so.

It's really not taken much to keep it looking great. Hit it with the vacuum brush every 2 weeks or so (when you're doing the rest of the interior) and every once in a while hit it with a good interior cleaner (I use Adam's).

I barely even have to think about cleaning it because it's never looked dirty or bad. I DO keep my car very clean inside.....so that surely helps.
