Poor man's foam gun.

Don't laugh.

I was getting ready to wash the car and figured I'd try something silly. I spied this thing on the other side of the garage:

https://www.ortho.com/en-us/products...se-end-sprayer

I added some car wash (chem guys pink) and some water to the reservoir and turned it up to max concentration and sprayed away. Did it put that silky layer of pure foam on the car like the real guns; no.

It did it put a nice layer of sudsy water on the car? It sure did; plenty to wash the car. This was a lot easier than using a bucket. I've used it the last few washes.

If you're going to buy something (as opposed to having something lying around) I recommend this one from Trinova. It's only $35 on prime.

I did look into that one last year. Didn’t pull the trigger as I was afraid it wouldn’t fit my pressure washer. If I saw it in person I could give it a better look.

For what it's worth, that's a foam cannon, not a foam gun. You need to connect it to a pressure washer rather than a regular garden hose.

But your point still stands, if your going to buy something new, there's plenty of inexpensive foam guns out there.

Most of these have a standard quick connect fitting on them. Most power washers I've seen with detachable tips will fit just fine.

The fitting is 1/4" which is pretty standard for consumer pressure washers as far as I know. Never seen one different except at commercial outfits.

Ahh. Mines a snap-on (branded, I know they didn’t make it) electric. It can change the spray pattern but you can’t change nozzles, so looks like I did the right thing. I figured it would suck and break after a year: how many of these things do YOU see by the curb? After 5 years it still does a great job.

.......and by now, my improv foamier has grown on me. I chuckle every time I use it.

Plus, you'll keep those nasty bugs and their staining guts off your pristine paint!!
