Just to provide a clear answer here.....

If your car has March 2021 or newer I-LEVEL (21-03-5xx), you can "turn on" Full-screen CarPlay using Carly/Bimmercode/Esys without the need for more complex coding as was previously the case.

Use E-Sys or Bimmercode expert mode to code HU_NBT_EVO. Search for "CARPLAY_FULLSCREEN" under "3000 HMI" and set it to "aktiv".

I did this on my M2 COmpetition today

My build date is 3/16/21 and I didn't have to code anything, it was full screen off the boat.

I still don't quite understand why BMW thought it was a good idea to have the default tiny carplay with split screen in the older builds...

This is such a huge upgrade that without it, it's almost worthless.

Out of interest, if you push the option key on your idrive controller while in CarPlay, do you still have the option to change to split screen? For me "Split Screen" is still there but it's greyed out.

Just curious to know if the builds that shipped with Fullscreen CarPlay by default behave the same.

Yeah, mines running the same version of NBTevo and was able to find it in expert mode

Thanks for this! I had my new to me 2017 M2 updated a couple of months ago (F020-17-03-505 / NBT_evoX) and was able to code this via Bimmercode without issue. Works perfectly!

And the software version is NBTevo_W202041

If I understand you correctly, just because I see an option in BimmerCode (expert) for carplay_fullscreen does NOT mean that I can just enable that one parameter, correct?

You need special patch. PM if needed.

Just upgraded to full screen by kubax86, great communication and service. Whole process took ~50 minutes. What a difference it makes!

I have NBTevo_X20511l, but I don’t see this in Esys. The only CarPlay related parameter I see is called: CarPlay_SWT. what I’m I doing wrong?

Esys 3.27.1 with launcher 2.8.2
