Hahah, JKen_0115 is having the same issues with logs & traction with his rear 265 PSS’s and cold Chicago weather.

I’ve got rear 285 4S’s but I’ll still break traction <40F in 3rd if I start lower than 3500RPM. Pretty ridiculous, but a blast!

4th is always a good option, but you need a good stretch of road to go to redline. I’ll take a look at the logs later today, but ultimately we’ll want to see 3K-redline in 3rd or 4th whenever you get a chance. No rush.

An alternative is to find a Dynojet close by to see what she’s putting down while you log!

About to join this club after this weekend!

So far I've got my LPFP and EOS LPFP controller in the car. This weekend I'm doing the evo3 and dorch stage 2.

Then mixing 50/50 California 91 and e85 and sending this thing to the no traction club! We'll see how the 265 PS4s on the stock wheels like it haha.

Corded my track wheels and need new tires on the BBS wheels.

If you get bored while you're installing the Evo3 () can you get accurate dimensions and weight of it? The other guys and I didn't do that.

Wagner has its dimensions here and lists a weight of 30.4-lbs https://www.wagner-tuning.com/produc...0001144-1.html, but it'd be great to get the dimensions on the bottom section and upper sections of the IC to throw into the Evo3 thread: https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1727351

I don't own a scale.

What dimensions exactly should I take?

Haha, welcome to the club! I'm so glad to see another happy M2 owner with STG2+ result. For sure, I'm planning to change the new tire setup in spring.

This looks solid to my eye. What's your Emix right now?

Also, it looks like Halim put a boost cap on the latest map version so you may not have issues, but several of us during testing and in the earlier map versions would get boost spikes >21.6psi on tip in and shifting which max's out the car's stock Pre-Throttle TMAP and caused a little stuttering every now & then.

You can see your car headed to those levels on tip in and shift, but the map capped the boost at 21.4psi which should be fine with the stock TMAP. So, just a heads up in case you sense any other stuttering that you may need to pick up one of these: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...or-13627843531

Cool. Looks like upping it to E50 might clean up timing even more, but it looks pretty good.

After doing both fuel pumps and tuning to this tune.... HOLY crap it's fast! I'll get some logs one night this week.

Zack is the guy to help the forum members here for sure. He helped me this whole process and Halim is definitely great tuner for us. Glad to see you're super happy. E50 is the best mixes IMO.

I’ve learned a lot from other guys here about all kinds of other topics, so I just contribute where I can.

In fact, your testing and input is what drove me to keeping upping the mix to E50, and it’s been running great!

In summary, it looks like you need the 3.5bar TMAP, just like the rest of us.

There's a few things going on in the log like HPFP drop, throttle closure, and MAF drop, and assuming your Emix is ~E50 and not like E65+ (with the Dorch Stage 1), here's what I think is going on:

Your boost maxed out the Pre-Throttle TMAP at 21.6psi, so the car didn't know exactly what was going on, which confused fueling by requesting more and made your HPFP drop (since we don't flow as much as the Stage 2 HPFPs), and then you had throttle closure mid pull, which overcompensated and knocked your boost pressure back down to below target before it climbed back up by the end of the pull. You may/may not have felt this as a small dip in power b/n 4-4.5k RPM.

If you put the 3.5bar TMAP in it will resolve maxing out the stock TMAP and these issues should go away.

Timing looked great, but we'll want a full power log in 3rd & 4th after you do the TMAP to verify.

Wow.. I did notice that dip in power. Ill work on getting the Tmap and go have some more fun with logging..( will get a full pull next time)
Probably need a e85 tester as well.. put 6 gal e85 then 4 gal 93.. not a good idea to just guess at percentage. Thanks again for your help.. my car is really starting to wake up!!

Yeah, I'm not sure why a 3.5bar Pre-Throttle TMAP isn't listed as a requirement for this map. Most all of us have needed to get one.

Just remember to change the Pre-Throttle TMAP Sensor setting in the Config for any maps that you use to 3.5bar (leave Manifold TMAP Sensor as OEM), and reflash after you install the sensor, and before you start the car.

Let's see if your car is another confirmation that the TMAP change is required!

with the upgraded TMAP, what's your boost pressure?

A good question, which lends itself to more clarification:

In the upper RPMs of pulls I never see boost go above 21psi, as target is generally 20.5-20.9psi and actual boost will track target pretty good on my car.

However, on tip in I've seen boost go to 23.5psi but quickly come back down to 19-20psi and then track target to redline. I'm guessing that's part of the tuning strategy for quick power/response when punching it, which this map has plenty of.

When I had a stock TMAP it would create the same exact behavior that Wheats1 is seeing, and the car would momentarily drop power or stutter. After the 3.5bar TMAP, the car sees the boost level correctly on tip in when it goes above 21.6psi and there's no cascading of issues that create the power hiccup.

So, this is more of a drivability mod than a power requirement b/c it doesn't happen all the time. I believe Daleb was the first to pick up on this issue.

V5.9 of the map also incorporates the new 6MT lag feature that keeps boost higher in the intake tract and I've seen 25psi (pre-throttle, not motor) during shifts or letting off the gas from WOT. I think that spike is so momentary that the TMAP change wouldn't be needed, but when doing low to high RPM pulls or a big downshift it rears its head.

No biggie tho. $65 part, 10-min install, toggle the Config setting, reflash, and all set.

In lieu of all the discussion pertaining to a 3.5 bar tmap I went ahead and ordered one from FCP and will flash the car to once it comes. Once I have that and an alignment I'll go make some 3rd gear WOT pulls in Mexico.
