I wouldn’t get your hopes up any time soon... it took me more than two years and posting tons of data, followed by other owners corroborating my claims before a fix was made.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m extremely happy that it’s now done in BM3, but the whole thing still leaves a bitter taste. We had a clear provable, easily repeatable issue and it took two years and a lot of patronizing emails from many tuners before we got a result.

I do think it will be fixed in all platforms eventually, but it just doesn’t sound like tuners think it’s important. I hope that as things go from a single voice (me) to more (widetyres) to now many more, that tuners start to take notice. Keep in mind that this issue afflicts ALL 6MT N55 (M2 only) and S55 cars!!! These must be some of the most tuned vehicles on the planet, and the lag is obvious from the first drive.... these are now pretty old drivetrains.

There is more to tuning a car than peak power, and perhaps most significantly, 6MT is just as important as DCT!

A above maybe tuning has too much history with 'power gains' but anything can be tuned and software has great power in modern cars. Tuning should be applied to many different things therefore.

Message them too? as so far it's only me. I'm n=1/outlier/nutjob as far as they are concerned!

Really stoked on the fix, kudos to everyone involved!

Could someone kindly spell out which exact OTS maps include the lag fix as of now and how to purchase those maps?

Did anyone get a chance to experience an S58 manual car now? Do they still have this stupidity in 2022 cars?

I tag them on FB at every n55 EWG map update mentioning just this, but never get a rise or response out of them. I am really curious as to whether those with BM3 notice an improvement with their OTS maps considering they've adopted this "fix"..

Hell yes I noticed an improvement. It's not perfect, and occasionally there is still some lag, but 90% of the time there isn't... and I love it!

As I said a few posts back, I'm thoroughly disappointed that it took any tuner so long to take this seriously, and I'm even more disappointed that there are still tuning platforms that haven't bothered to find their own solution to what I feel is the most serious problem with the 6MT N55 / S55 BMWs.

I was right on the brink of selling my M2 when the fix came out... I was so frustrated every time I drove it... now I don't have to sell it and I can enjoy every drive.

I recently updated/flashed ots maps.. specifically stage2 plus and definitely noticed a lag fix plus hpfp issues they had in the past.
Car is a blast to drive, really having 2nd thoughts on upgrading the turbo as well

I also notice the improvements in up shifts with BM3 on v5.9 stage 2 91 OTS. FWIW, I also flashed back to stock just to see if it's just placebo and I immediately felt the issue come back. A huge thanks to Nezil for his persistence, and of course PTF for eventually listening and putting in a fix.

I swear how I shift impacts lag between 2-3 shifts.

If you row 2-3 quick enough and feed it just a hair of throttle to keep it breathing you can eliminate it.

That should be enough to trick the ECU.

I want to add that the issue isn't as pronounced on my M2C but was absolutely brutal on my M2. it's still there but not to the extent that it makes it undriveable.

There's a specific N55 function that doesn't exist in S55 cars that BM3 removed in the latest N55 OTS maps.

Worth noting that BM3 will share the fix with custom tuners, I have a custom Stage 2 done locally in Sydney and the 6MT load drop fix works with that identical to the OTS tunes (I initially had a Carey custom tune which suffered the lag despite claims from Carey their tunes had the fix, was other issues with that tune that led me to get rid of it).

Between this fix, custom throttle mapping in my tune (Sport+ deleted so Sport all modes except Comfort), AS SSK and finally CDV removed the car is just so enjoyable to drive in every situation. Can't see myself ever selling it

Fantastic, happy to hear this! I've already paid for the MHD license and would like to keep using that platform but you all are leaving very promising responses that have me justifying the $ to swap.

How did you effectively remove the CDV? Did you swap in a different slave without the CDV - I think I recall seeing an e9x version that was a direct replacement. Thx!

Interesting, so there is no improvement from BM3 on an S55 regarding any lag post-shift? It's one of the main things that annoys me when it happens. It must be bad on N55 if it's worse... I've only driven DCT and ZF8 N55 cars though.

Yep, I know that, but what's the difference here between N55 and S55?
