Still partial to the original M2, regardless of straight-line speed.

My takeaway from this video is that no single generation/model is significantly faster than any other, and you should buy whatever M2 fits your budget and personality the closest.

I'm very very happy with my OG, even with the existence of the 1M, comp, CS and G87. It may be the slowest of the bunch, but it looks the best of all of them in my opinion, and is arguably the most reliable and simple to work on as a DIYer.

End of the day you cant go wrong with any of them!

Just nitpicking, but it would have really been nice if they included the manual and auto versions of each model. That being said, the 1M's performance is impressive given that it's 6mt racing the others. I'd venture that it would walk the OG and keep up with the M2c if they were all manual.

G87 M2 is a rocket, as expected. Looks terrible (personal opinion as always) but clearly a leap in performance. Again, would be fun to see how different the results would be if the M2cs was DCT.

Edit: just saw the latter rolling race - won't spoil for anyone, but wow! lol

Fun video at end of the day

Different transmitions are one thing that its realy ok for comparison, second is that ex M2CS of Chris Harris isnt stock (suspension bad traction) and Comp as it looks isnt stock (suspension and ECU becouse od charge pipe, air filter...)

But you can clearly see that SW of LC in G87 in the best in all of them.

That G87’s power is so underrated based on how it gapped the others with all that additional weight and only 10 more claimed hp than the CS.

Comp is obviously stock. Shame it's on rain tires though.

You didn’t notice the CS couldn’t crack a 13 second quarter even though it’s comfortably in the high 11s? Hopefully they do one in the future with stock versions rather than one that bounces around like a stagecoach.

The rolling race was more illustrative.
