Odd conditions after rear tire replacement

Just installed 275/35 19 rear tires and still have the stock 245/35 19 fronts.

Driving on rutted highways is now an absolute nightmare. Car pulls in all directions. On smooth roads no issues.

Anyone experienced something similar ? Hard to believe 10mm extra at the back makes such a difference.

Considering trying the 255/35 19 fronts and seeing what happens.

Thanks

Since you didn't specify:

what tire?
Dry and warm ideal road conditions as well? (i.e. no rain and roads not wet/oily)

What are the tires on the front?

I believe what you are talking about is "tramlining" correct? The tendency for a car to follow grooves / ruts on road surfaces.

And you're getting the squirrelly feeling just cruising on the highway? Or are doing WOT pulls and get the side to side

Not sure this helps you but for what it's worth, I've got the Indy 500s front and back on my car w/o issue. I believe I went to 255 front and 275 back (was one size up from stock).

Yup exactly correct. Same tire up front. And just cruising.

Check pressures and maybe up the pressure a bit. Should be already close to what’s on your door tag for pressure. Maybe they didn’t check properly after the mounting and one tire could be off.
Whenever going over size tires you will increase the tramlining effects. It’s why I’m going back down to 255/275 next time. But since you aren’t hugely oversized I wouldn’t think that would be much different one size up from stock.

Checked and double checked the pressures. Will be digging into it tonight some more and maybe play with the pressures a bit. Thanks

I hated the indy 500s I had on my F31 (in 19" 225/255) I can't imagine having them on my M2C. The Michelin tires are so amazing...

If the tires are new, maybe it's just that they are not broken in.

All checked out ok. Nothing to report. Guess I will just have to get used to it.

Thanks for the input
