I've had my '18 M2 fully wrapped in late 2017, and have 35k mi on the clock. My car is garage kept so not unnecessarily exposed to UV. I don't believe there is any yellowing, like prior PPF solutions, but I also think I look as good as I did when I was 35 when I look in the mirror (which ain't right). Anyone see long term issues? I've heard/read the 5 year mark as a replacement mark in the timeline. But I'm not seeing it. Thoughts?

Has anyone see more issues sooner with Suntek than with XPEL?

I would not remove / renew it based on any arbitrary time line. If it still looks good and is doing the job it is intended to do, I'd keep it as long as those conditions say the same.
For more subjective opinion, head to a Cars and Coffee like event, assuming you can find one given the current situation, or ask a reputable installer.

PPF isn't some mythical magical force field. It does its job really really well but nothing is perfect or lasts forever. With that said, if it still looks good, then it's fine. I have old Suntek on my truck and it was only a 5 year film. I can see approaching five years that I'll need to replace it soon. |

I had choice but went with what the installer preferred, he said suntek is easier to take off when its time, the xpel might strip paint
The suntek also improved the quality in the last few years , ive had it done like 2 yrs ago on front and hood, and it looks great |

I'm going to get steamrolled for this comment...
XPEL in my area is $2k for the front end If I'm a 3-4 year holder of this car, it does not feel worth it If I'm a long-term holder of this car, I don't think I would mind repainting the bumper at somepoint? I guess I'm struggling with the recent phenomenon of perfect paint? I assume other things are not perfect on the car? |

Removed PPF when I sold the 997 which spent 11 years as an advanced solo track car. When it was removed it looked like the car was showroom new i was shocked. Well worth its cost... YMMV
