How many miles/km can you get out of the M2C?

For some OCD reason I'm not putting a lot of miles/km on my M2C... covid is a pain in the ass but still I'm starting to wonder around the end of combustion engines in some European countries as early as 2030...
Something is keeping me from putting the miles/km on the odometer...

It is my dialy driver but only putting around 1000 km/month on the odometer...

The car still feels as a boys dream come true everytime time I drive it... a flashback to the first time I saw an E46 M3 when driving to college...

So I am wondering... is it realistic to still be driving this car in the weekend 20 years from now with 125k miles on the odometer?

Maybe. Or you could die of a stroke tomorrow.

Drive it.

Super - my wife keeps telling that... and my 4-year old "daddy can you make more noise?"

BTW dead of my dad at just 60 convinced me to buy the car... life is too short

20 years, my guess would be yes. ICE vehicle sales will be probably be totally banned in Europe by 2040. That means we'll still probably see ICE cars on the road there until about 2050, probably will progressively steeper mileage taxes to disincentivize usage. Don't fret about what you'll be doing with the car in 20 years, enjoy it now.

Lets not also forget that in 20 years, fossil fuel may be prohibitively expensive and/or difficult to find.

My philosophy is to drive the car as much as possible because to me it's like going to the theme park every drive.
As far as wearing it out, if you change the oil regularly, the engine might outlast you.

1. People in general worship the past.
2. You can have ANYTHING tomorrow that you had yesterday, it'll just be twice the price.

Drive the car. Get another one later if you need to.

I like the encouragement... I'm wondering if it might even be due to a cultural difference... it seems in Europa in general we might be a bit conservative, looking for some security or certainty... not that optimistic perhaps...

EVs are around the corner, looking at them the design and experience is different and I'm perhaps a bit (pre-)nostalgic about being able to drive a nice more than 3 or 4 cylinder car while we still can...

No point in looking at that far into the future, you paid all this money for a car, you should enjoy it.

I've got 3 BMW M's, all of them have over 95,000 miles/150,000 KM's. The E36 M3 actually has 142,000 miles/230,000 km. These cars don't just magically fall apart at a certain mileage, although of course, I'm religious about maintaining them. If I got an F87/G87, I would expect the same from it.

What's the worse that could happen in 20 years? You blow an engine? Bite the bullet, get another S55 and keep enjoying it. At the end of the day, we're not talking about a Mclaren F1 or Ferrari 250 GTO.
