If it's the HUD you miss for the shift lights, get the M Performance electronic steering wheel! Best $1800 and 6 hours of install time (did it myself) I ever spent!

Think it is safe to assume the new G87 will have these two features?

This is probably the biggest complaint. It's a small pig of a car and get little fuel to burn.
I totally get the fuel thing, but I really don't care. Gives me an excuse to make a special trip out with the car. Granted it doesn't get out that often as I work from home.

Same here. Working from home is rough for car fanatics.

I wish the car came with some sort of storage device to store all the panties and bras that are thrown my way when I drive it. Instead it looks like some random slut's laundry day on the back seat right now.

Hydraulic steering would be #1 on EVERYONE's list, IF they had experience driving old-school M cars equipped with it.

It's a crying shame that the M boys ever let the bean counters take hydraulic steering away from them. Should have remained on the M cars, exclusively. IMHO.

there was no chance of that happening. They just need to do it better.

i want to say the manual shifter should be 1" forward, but i'm still getting my seat/steering wheel position set up. mainly the 2nd, 4th, 6th is too far back , making my wrist crunch. i'll try leaning the seat back more.

Sad that an M car doesn't have this. Back in the day my '97 Neon ACR came with adjustable Konis that had slotted lower mounting holes for camber.

The armrest is not great at being an armrest and slides forward or backward if there's any force on it, at least on mine.

1. Adaptive/more comfortable suspension in comfort mode.
2. About 5 decibels less road/tire noise
3. More lux interior

How many more years are you going to give them to get it right? EPS has been around for at least 18 years now - appeared on the 2003 Z4 for sure, not sure if earlier - and it really sucked HARD at first and has been gradually improved to where it's now barely acceptable. In 18 years. My patience wore out a LONG time ago. It's obviously inferior technology when it comes to steering feel. Has other advantages but they're all negated by failing on its most important duty, at least in a car like an M car, Porsche, etc. On a grocery getter, nobody cares.

That’s all a really cool story and I do agree but your forgetting the pesky emissions factor that’s causing it regardless. Lastly Porsche EPS is pretty damn good. 997 hydraulic good, unfortunately no... but far better than what BMW has provided so far. It. can only get better because hydro is done regardless... RIP.

Easy.

OEM adjustable suspension and Android Auto. Next gen will have both of these. Cars 1/3 of the price have them.

I wish it did not come with auto rev match or if there was a way to disable without completely turning off traction control. I think I was really turned off to to the M2 Bc of that. I wish the rear end looked cooler and also wish the leather quality was better and had the M3/M4 competition seats. Adaptive suspension would’ve been nice and a cf roof. I’m also essentially describing the M2CS, which I definitely can’t justify spending $80k-$90k on.
