I’d like to order an M2C if there are allocations available.

Are all the allocations out to dealers or is there another round? I have spoke to a few dealers that claim to be able to get an allocation. Since I am not 100% familiar with the process and knowing production is coming to a close, I don’t want to waste my time. Thanks.

i believe as of april all may allocations were handed out. there will likely be a very limited june allocation but i wouldn’t count on it

Thanks. So if a dealer is saying they can get me an allocation (i.e they don't currently have one), they are likely talking out their a$$?

No real way to know, but I wouldn't take the chance if it were me. Find a dealer that HAS an allocation - apparently a bunch just got handed out so there should be some out there. You SHOULD be able to place an order and be given a production number by the time you leave the dealership (or end the phone call). Anything less and they don't actually have the allocation.

Edit: and I echo the advice given above— don't wait around for a dealer who 'might' get an allocation. Production ends on this car in June, and no one really knows how many allocations BMW will give out between now and then. Don't miss the boat on this one!

Week 20 prod week cannot start soon enough
Looking forward to tracking the ship, going to the Liberty Park to see it arrive, etc.

I'm working with a dealership in IL, they took a $500 deposit from me today and advised they can find allocation, even if they have to trade inventory with another dealer. They seem like a very large dealership, so i figured they were credible. Now I'm questioning whether this may fall through and they will call me in a few weeks and tell me they couldn't secure an allocation.

^^ I’d give them a hard deadline, like 72 hours or something. If they fail, move on. Allocations are out there. Don’t miss out!

Thanks for the input! Another dealer got back to me and said they have an allocation and guaranteed that they could provide me with a production number and timeline for production. Ended up going with them, but will need to tell the other dealer. Feel bad for doing that, but couldn’t wait for them to try to find an allocation. I’m excited to get my M2 in June

Had they already ordered it? Ready to be proven wrong, but IIRC from other threads June would be early for a car not already in production/queued up at this point?

Nope, it wasn’t already ordered. They provided me with a build sheet and production number after providing a deposit. It’s supposed to be built sometime in may and expect it will get here some time in June, maybe sooner. Overall, they said 6-8 weeks but things can change and maybe speed up.

When I talked to my dealer about the build he said 4 months wait at least. Granted the car has been ordered in the begining of April, and won't even start production until week 20 - mid May. From this point it's a pretty quick process to build the car, and a painful wait for our cars to get here. From my last time ordering an M235i, I placed an order in mid April, and the car got into my hands third week of July.
So I'd expect similar timelines, and hoping to get the car by August so I can enjoy some late summer and foliage driving thru New England.

You're in the same boat as a bunch of us. Week 20 prod. If there is a boat available it could easily depart in week 21-22. I expect mine third week to last week of June.
