Munich: M2C driver pulled away full throttle with screeching tires and crashed
Munich: M2C driver pulled away full throttle with screeching tires and crashed.
Luckily no-one got injured (including the reckless 23-yr old M2C driver). Car is totaled. See here (quick English translation) and here (original article in German).

This is what happens if you either
1) Don't learn how to drive, or 2) Learn to drive on a low power car like the BRZ, and think driving a powerful car is the same. Can't even keep it straight under power.

According to Road&Track last month, criminal charges (reckless driving and operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs) against the millionaire driver were dropped "because the case cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt": see here.

The owner of this car posted about the incident in the FB BMW M2 group. To his credit, he owned it, and said he was being stupid.
There's a pretty funny photoshop of the crash making the cylinder a big Redbull can and associated logo on the side of the car, haha.

Oh man, that guy is in a heap of trouble. He'll likely lose his license for quite awhile. The Europeans don't mess around with reckless driving.

Man. I'm so happy I had something slower when I was that age, because I DEFINITELY put my car into a ditch the first time I experienced oversteer. Intellectually, I knew exactly what was happening and I knew exactly how to counteract it, but instead my brain just said "OH NO!! BRAKES WILL MAKE THIS STOP HAPPENING!"
But the nice thing about a 190 hp Celica on gravel is that speeds are much lower and therefore the forces you're subjecting your car to in an accident are exponentially lower. No totalled cars for me as a young man, just messed up front bumpers.... |
