So how do you prevent wheel theft then?

Is this a US door sticker. Mine says 32 PSI on the door. I assume this is cold pressure. The michelin app specs 38PSI hot. This works out correctly with a warm ambient temp, but in colder weather the tires won't get warm enough without extended driving.

So your US spec M2CS with the Cup2 240 has a recommended air pressure of 32psi cold all the way around?
Chasing tire pressure on the move is very difficult. I sometimes start out at sea level around 72 degrees F, head east to the mountains at around 5000 ft. elevation, then meanwhile the temperature has climbed to 100 degrees F and the tires are super heated from the twisties. I've seen the pressure go from 35 to 42. Come to think of it maybe the Connect app could be useful after all.

Yes. I'm now wondering if my car has the wrong door sticker. The track connect app suggests 38psi hot. I keep my tires adjusted based upon the track connect sensors and my trip logs. 32 cold is about right for summer weather. 36 cold is about right for winter. In my region and for my driving.

Post your sticker. (But not with that invisible camera that you use from time to time )

Wow, recommended tire pressure is really high for the over 100mph guidance in the manual. Door sticker is for under 100mph.

Crazy how much lower the E46 is. And how the 2 series is the size of the old 3!

How odd. I don't have any info in either the printed manual or the online one other than consult tyre placard. The one you have seems to be fitted locally I'd say as there is no BMW branding on it. Seems strange that they would give different info for different markets?

Is it not the app he got the details from?

No. They are photos from a US manual, we have nothing like those pages. The app screenshots are the connect app.

Sorry, should have been more specific, that's actually what I meant (the blue screenshots)

First picture is the door sticker. Pics 2 and 3 are from the US owners manual, and pics 4 -5 are from the Michelin track connect app.

The track connect app recommends a tire pressure of 38psi hot. However, you can see there is a range for what it considers ideal. 38psi seems to be the avg. With outside temps above 60F and a cold pressure of 36psi it seems to warm up to 38psi around town driving and 40psi on hwy. Tire temps get to about 120F on hwy. I would assume tire temps would get to 180 - 200F on track and require a cold fill temp to closer to 32F.

The manual recommends a cold pressure of 41psi if going over 100mph. This would likely be closer to 44psi when on the hwy and towards the high end of ideal for the track connect app. I'm unsure what Pressures bmw used on track. Higher pressure could lead to a more tail happy nature.

I have mine filled so that when warm and running at higher speed the pressure settles at 40 to 41psi. Anyone else running something they like. Sorry, this tire porn might not be as favorable.

A quick bit of math & the ideal gas law indicate that tire pressure increases by 1.0 psi for every rise in tire temp of 15 degrees F (or 8 1/3 degrees C). If you know what your running (hot) tire temperature is, you can use this relationship to determine what your starting pressure should be at your actual ambient ("cold") fill temperature.

Maybe a bit less gloss in the barrel but not silver.

In my town there have been a lot of catalytic converters cut off of parked cars lately. It's super extra pathetic because the raw cat is worth so much less than the OEM exhaust is to the owner. At least wheels sell for close to the actual value.
