Watch out: Beach cities enforcing lower Db limits on car exhausts
Just a word of caution, Newport Beach and Laguna Beach are launching enforcement campaigns to ticket vehicles with loud exhausts. These cities have 80 Db exhaust limits, lower than the CA limit of 95Db. While the legality of these lower limits is not immediately clear, the cost and hassle of fighting a sub $200 ticket is often not worth it.
Of particular note, they are performing some roadside emissions tests, so you may want to be extra careful if you are running something other than a stock catalytic converter. https://patch.com/california/newport...-loud-vehicles |
