well it might be a while...my CA just forwarded this email to me from the PC scheduler. i guess it's not too surprising given i havent been assigned a VIN or production date yet. so PCD timing it still up in the air.

Nice e46! The M2C is incredible out of the box - my opinion (and this is the fastest car I've owned) - that tuning it makes it "too much" for the street.

That sux. Mine is sitting at the port as we speak. I don't have a PC delivery date, but I'm flexible. It's more annoying knowing that my baby is going to be sitting at a port for an extended period of time.

I just received an allocation and placed an order a week ago. From when it goes to production what time frame can I expect? The dealer told me I got it accepted as 111 for production and wanted to be realistic about the timeframe. I am all the way in Southern California if that helps.

In a similar boat but not order confirmed yet... very nervous but my dealer has always been good to me and is saying I will get April allocation which will be their last allocation. May build. Will have final word in two weeks.

You're looking at about 12 weeks to delivery from the time BMW accepts your order at the factory.

I haven't received my car yet but here is my production timeline so far for reference. I will say that I was extremely lucky that my car only had to wait two days for a ship, but with current delays it should take anywhere from 1-3 weeks for a ship.

January 28 - Order received
January 28 - Scheduled for production
March 1 - Production begins
March 12 - Exterior body assembly begins
March 12 - In the paint booth
March 12 - Entering assembly line
March 12 - Assembly in progress
March 12 - Quality check
March 13 - Final assembly
March 13 - Ready for transport
March 13 - Awaiting carrier assignment
March 16 - Dispatched from factory
March 17 - Arrival at the port in Bremerhaven

You'll sit in that status for about 2 weeks. I didn't even bother checking during this period, I just found out the production week and started checking again then.. sure enough. on Tuesday of that week, all the real magic started happening.
