Just placed order for M2C
Hi everyone! Very excited to announce that I was able to secure an allocation for a M2C with Bill Jacobs BMW in Naperville, Illinois. I actually live in NYC and I was calling multiple North East dealers and was not able to secure an allocation at all. Almost gave up =(. This is not my first BMW - I have a daily driver X5 and I just recently sold my 2006 e46 m3 with 6-spd manual and only ~73k. I miss the e46, but I'm hoping this M2C can satisfy the urge. Been in love with the M2 ever since it came out.

I went to "scheduled for production" status on March 4th, found out was scheduled for Week 11 production, which is this week.. and today it breezed through the production steps and is now "awaiting carrier assignment". Barring any transportation delays, I should see it in Arizona around the first week of May. So excited for the day to arrive!
I too will be replacing an S54-based car (Z4MC) with the M2c. My Z4MC was hit in January (still not out of the body shop at this point) and I'll be selling it as soon as I get it back. I'm quite confident that the M2c will be an adequate replacement, as much as I do love that car.

Btw K3nny, I too went for orange stitching, and already have my Cocomats ready to rock. These should fit in great with the overall interior decor..

Cool mats! I'll take a look at them. Are you doing anything else to the car? |

I won't be doing much. Clutch stop, mats, maybe a speaker upgrade at some point. Planning to leave it mostly stock. For me, it's perfection right of the box.

I went with orange because the accent color in my Golf R's interior is blue (as is the car), so that made it an easy decision to do something different. Plus I think orange kinda goes with silver in an odd way. Blue obviously works well too. No bad choices here.

I was weekend driving a Z4 mcoupe before buying the M2C. The M2C is in a complete other league performance and handling wise. About the only thing I preferred on the older car was the steering feedback. It's not that it's bad on M2C, rather steering feel was just so good on hydraulic steering BMWs.
You are going to enjoy the heck out of your new car. It's a dam rocket ship! |

Nice! Glad everyone was able to get in on this beautiful machine before production ends. I built the car on bmwusa.com with orange stitching, but when I placed the order I went with blue and finally changed my mind yesterday and went with orange.
Just kinda glad that I was able to find a dealer out of state that's willing to work with me. The best part about all of this is the drive back from IL to NY and it's already 3/4 broken in. |

k3nny - any reason you're not doing performance center delivery? seems like that might be a better drive back up to NYC along the spine of the appalachians? not to mention the goodies associated with PCD.
my CA submitted my request for PCD last week, but i'm still awaiting confirmation (and production date).

happyjack To be honest, I'm not sure. I think I was just overly excited and didn't give it much thought. I guess I can ask and see if it can be changed. Thanks for bringing that up!

Orange is a little more limiting in the sense that only the M2C will have it. This can be both good and bad. It's good because it's more exclusive, but also bad because it's more exclusive. If you leave the car stock that's not really a big deal, but if you plan on upgrading/selling parts of the interior like the shift boot/knob, ebrake, seats, etc. you will have a much harder time finding buyers for those items. Polar blue was/is available on all F87's from 2016 so in that sense it would be beneficial to not go with orange.
