After I sold my OG M2 and my 1M I faced the same exercise. Passed on my number 1 CS spot for this yellow thing. In love! 991.1 with 12k miles.

(yes my garage sucks. Just moved and working on it soon!)

If you had to choose between those two, which would stay?

M2 vs 991.1 GT3?! Pure jokes. GT3 over heavily breathed on 2 series wouldn't be a question for a moment to me. GT3, of course.

Have you driven both? I ask because those that have seat time in both seem to unanimously agree that the GT3 is the better car hands down, but the CS holds its own as a better rounded car to live with. Based on the OP not planning to have a lengthy list of driving options the CS could be a better match for today. The GT3 was on my radar, but 4 seats, usability, made the decision for me at this time. I'm very much pro GT3, but folks want to make sure they get what fits their lifestyle. If I were single I probably would not have the CS. Not getting a CS would lead to serious regret for me down the road if this turns into one of the must have collectible bmws.

My wife will ride in the CS, she refers to the GT3 as the "tin can!" and asks can we just take my X5M!

Personally, I don't find the GT3 any more harsh than the CS. My .1 GT3, I had for 3 years and drove 19,xxx miles with buckets and had no comfort problems. I did not keep it as I was worried long term about the engine. My .2 is now 3 years old had I have 8,xxx miles on her and love it. I chose the PDK with the .2 as I do track it and I wanted no part of a money shift, plus it is sooo good. The best part is the exhaust sound and I can safely say the most disappointing part of the CS is the exhaust sound!

I have decided to pass on the 992 for now and will wait and see. The $$$ difference between what I could get for my .2 versus the 992, just doesn't justify it for me - or another way, you get an multilink front suspension setup and swan neck spoiler. I am not that good of a driver at the track to feel/sense the upgrades, so it would be purely an ego upgrade. That is my opinion! No flames please!

Totally agree! Except mine has 10k miles and it's a manual that I track.

it's extraordinary how narrow the Porsche looks when sitting next to the Stallion

Wide angle lens trick. look at how the left side of the ferrari looks longer vertically than the right side also.

I just measured outer edge rear tire width (track) at 74" on a GT2RS and 75" on a 488.

Although I much prefer 991.2 over 991.1 and I am a die hard manual guy, my advice is get the GT3.

That is a totally different experience and a totally different drive.

M2CS is a great looking car and is a fun car which just wants to drive sideways. And that is true that it is the best M car produced since e46 CSL.

But the feel you have in a GT3 even within city boundaries in the corners is just something else. On top of that engine sound is just epic.

If you have a budget then I would highly recommend stretching it to get 991.2.

GT3 even in 10 or 20 years from now will be still a very special car.

"This might come as a depressing shock, but if you have a casual dinner with the GT team members responsible for the hardcore GT2, GT3, and GT4 models, and you wait till they've finished a glass or two of wine, you barely have to spit out something like, "So, about those manual transmissions … ," before you get a response like, "If it wasn't for America, we'd have been finished with that nonsense years ago."

"If nothing else, it isn't lost on them that there's something amusing about the idea the same market that led a mass exodus from manual-gearbox cars is now the loudest complainer when Porsche tries to sneak out of the stick-shift game. Remember when a few years ago the Flacht crew tried to permanently retire the manual from the GT3? The reaction makes my imaginary, ballast-based sailboat look like an antigravity machine in comparison."

Davil, that’s fine for the US clientele, in Aus P chose to NOT offer a manual in any Carrera. I sold my manual Carrera T 991.2, should have kept black beauty but,,,, $ can’t have everything you want sometimes.

But yeh P is getting out of Manauls across the board, 718 aside.

Everyone should sell their M2C and get the 911. They don't make the M2 CS any longer

I was among those who cried the loudest when the 991.1 came out and a 6MT wasn't offered. And then of course there was the infamous engine problem and recall the first year. So the 991.1 iteration was an easy pass for me, though I quickly returned to GT3-ville when the 991.2 GT3 was revealed. I tried to dislike the 992 GT3, but it's no use...I'm in love. No point fighting the addiction, I suppose.

Why do u regret selling the e92. Every now and then I wonder if it is time to sell with the current sellers market. But then I worry about exactly that feeling you describe.
