Correct. Last time I checked, you had to be a member for 1-year.

Same. Very quick after buying my car. I joined back when M2 came out because I knew I'd have one eventually.

Nope. You can buy a 3-year membership and cut the lead time to 6 months from a year. No "instant" option.
