Ordered my VRSF 6.5" intercooler and charge pipe today.
After flashing the ACN 91 Stage 1 map on my car I had 2 instances of knock on my first datalogged pull. So I'm back to the stock tune, waiting for the IC before I try the tune again. I saw IATs as high as 110F at the end of the pull, with 45F ambient temps. a 65 degree increase makes it abundantly clear that the stock IC just isn't up to the job. |

Funny. Calacacian ordered his VRSF charge pipe today, and I installed mine.
Took longer than I thought. Was a bitch getting the lower portion lined up with the inter cooler. There’s a key way on the hose and the inter cooler that tricky to align. Remove the MAP sensor before pulling out the stock piece. That’s the part that seems to hang up on everything when pulling it out from the bottom. The VRSF really is a nice piece. Better than the explosion-O-matic that comes from the factory.

I have MR40 kit that I had ordered with 70/140nm springs, last summer I had the rears revalved softer to fit the 140nm springs but it did not make a huge difference so this year I am trying 60/110nm springs to make things more compliant. I really have bad roads around here wich influences my choice.

This Weekend
Installed the new color-matched side grills and RKP rear diffuser then cleaned it up for some photos at one of my favorite spots.

It's the AutomotivePassion piece; attaches to the factory mounting points. Really impressed with the finish and quality on the lip; not so much with their winglets, they're now collecting dust in the garage as I installed M-Perf ones.

Added a little weight to my Auto Solutions SSK to cancel out the tiny bit of NVH added by the stiffer bushings. Was tempted to just swap back in the stock ones, but Ron suggested adding some wheel weights or similar to the shifter itself, in lieu of a heavier knob. Used some 3oz sticky flexible weights meant for a pinewood derby car and it did the trick

Looks great Painting the rails BSM to match will make it look way more complete
Once removed they can be painted without the car being present

Today I fell down the "well, I'm taking my car to EAS soon anyways" hole. It's going in for a charge pipe, CSF intercooler (changed my mind from the VRSF), M2C carbon and aluminum braces, and Dinan muffler on the 31st, but now I'm adding the IND carbon fiber front and rear roundels, and a painted gloss black M2 logo.
Almost done on my mission to make the entire exterior of the car (minus the brake calipers) a mix of MG, carbon fiber, gunmetal, or gloss black. The wheels will be getting replaced shortly with some BC forged so I don't need to worry about the wheel roundels. |

Installed the M Performance CF engine cover. I realize it's pointless, but I'm OCD and even clean the engine bay of my cars.

So it's been slow progress, slower than I hoped. But today received this picture from my painter. The bumper is now repaired and primed!
Attached another from when I first had it delivered. Needless to say it's been a labour of love getting that bumper right and fixing all the cracks. |
