Track night in America

I had such a blast this past week at TNA through SCCA at Carolina Motorsports Park on 4/7/21.

This car is an absolute monster. I'm sure if I was good at track driving it'd be even better. My last session was a big improvement over the first two just through familiarity. Be gentle!

Completely stock hardware in the car. Running the BM3 M3 CS tune. Highly recommend!

Overall a great first track day for me. I'd highly recommend driving the car on a track if you have the chance.

M Laptimer app indicated a best lap of 1:50.19 which I think is on par with similar cars but I couldn't find any video to prove that.

My dashcam only stored the last sessions' worth of video (I'll be upgrading before I go again) so here it is:

Time to bust out the checkbook, because this hobby is as expensive as it is addicting.

1:50 is a good time, low 1:50s is what I saw in my first sessions last fall at CMP. New but damp pavement at the time and stock M2C. My battery ran out so I didn't get my later more dry sessions recorded.

Just the simple tune from protuningfreaks: https://www.protuningfreaks.com/prod...-m2competition

Need a laptop, a WiFi/hardwired obd2 port link, and a trickle charger for the battery.

Takes about 30 minutes

Nah it's legit! Considering the M3/4 CS has 450hp from the factory it's completely reachable. Gearbox can take something like 750lb-ft of torque too so it's all well over-engineered.

500+ hp is easily reachable with the S55 motor, a simple tune and some bolt-on mods.

It is technically modified outside of warranty specs so they CAN deny coverage for things but I've not personally had issues. I've also not had any serious warranty claims. YMMV

Curious about Track Night in America - you get 3, 20 min sessions? Are other cars pretty reasonable out there? Doing my first session in a month (novice group).

Yep! Three 20 minute sessions. Seemed like most cars were "stock" and everyone was very nice. Only Advanced had some purpose-built cars on the track.

Highly recommend! Bring enough water and food, you drive with the windows down to signal to other drivers so it can get pretty hot.
