I don't like the sound of the Akra and would not buy one. I think the MPE is one of the better sounding systems. The ones that sound best to my ear seem to be less popular. I think my favorite so far has been the AA EL midpipe with a stock M3CS rear section. I think it was running stock downpipes too. It's on YouTube.

The MPE hangs down like the stock exhaust. It's saving grace is that it's smooth, polished, and says m performance where you can see it. Its better than stock, but wonder why they didn't tuck it up higher. I don't mind it and think it looks good. Almost every other solution looks better though.

I'm uncertain how accurate this is but when I went over to see mine on the weekend, I raised the issue regarding how low the udder hangs in the CS and was told it's designed specifically to work in conjunction with the rear diffuser for better aerodynamics and airflow

And it looks good. Especially with those large chrome tips. I don't get what all the fuss is about? Sounds good too.

If you want to use it as an axleback, there are very limited options on what midpipe you can use (Fabspeed comes to mind)

Arguing about which exhaust is better or has a 'magic sauce' is quite possibly as pointless as discussing which is the best color. It's extremely subjective and a personal choice.
Who's arguing? I understand why people would want it... its OEM, it looks and sounds good. But it is also $6k and the man said his main motivation was to get rid of the stock muffler hanging below the car like a diaper. I'm pointing out there are other high end exhausts for much less that can meet his needs. And since they are bolt on, there is nothing irreversible if the CS becomes some kind collectible if that is his concern.
One observation I'll share is I got more than 50% back for my MPE for the F80 even though it was 5yo - you do recoup a good % of the costs if you part out. I don't know if you'd get the same outcome on other exhausts (with the possible exception of Akra).

There's definitely a used market for most of these exhausts, especially popular ones like MPE, akra, remus, AA etc... 5 years from this point for the F8x is a lifetime though, so who know.

OG M2 MPE was made by Red Arch in the UK:

They make the current M5 MPE. Not sure on the M3/M4 f series MPE. Taking a stab that they manufacture the M2C MPE.

It's just the angle of the shot that makes it look that way. In reality are the same length. Good eye though!

Just picked up the car. This is the exhaust that should have come on this car. I will try to get a sound clip. Or look me up at MX1 Fest this weekend.

As this is my first M car. I don't see any issues with the exhaust.

I am interested in sound clips.

I am late to this, read through most of the comments on this thread but didn't find an answer to my question (forgive me if this is redundant) but is there a way to install the MPE on the M2CS without cutting anything?

No. Any slip-on style rear section will require it cut, unless you combine with a mid-pipe like Active Autowerk or similar.

Thank you for feedback! Ok, just to be sure, if I combine it with AA mid pipe (looks like they have been sold out for a while), it can fit without cutting.

Correct. Factory exhaust on your car is one piece from the cat. Anything you install will require cutting it unless you also add a mid pipe. They come up for sale here.
